Summary

Jack Frost was supposed to be on holiday, but with one child dead and another reported missing, there was no chance, no matter how much it pained Chief Superintendent Mullett to recall his scruffiest, most irreverent officer to duty. Had the same person taken both boys? Was there any connection with the pervert who silently entered houses at night to stab babies in their cots? Questions, questions and more questions. And so very few answers.

David Jason, who plays D. I. Jack Frost in the TV adaptations, brings R D Wingfield's characters to vivid life in this compelling reading.

Frost in the Jason Style - Loved It

I downloaded this title because I always enjoyed 'Frost' on TV and indeed, on Amazon Prime. I have read the books and listened to most of the titles by a different narrator but the fact is, I like DI Frost as played by David Jason.

This audiobook, although abridged, has been edited in such a way as to bring out the 'David Jason' Frost beautifully, and he reads it in just the way you'd hope.

For fans, it's a familiar story - Frost is a 'policeman's policeman' from his hilarious fantasies regarding the fate he'd like to wish on his DS, to fiddling his petrol receipts, And yet - he's the first to feel pity for the murdered child, contempt for the abuser, to work all the hours God sends.

This narrative is thirty years old now and does have sexist and inappropriate comments and attitudes, but I take it in the same spirit I would a Georgian novel - the past was a different country and they did things differently then (thank God).

Loved it.

Enjoyable listening

Told by David Jason makes you visualise what it would be like in real life. Couldn’t stop listening to it once I started. Only wish more of Touch of Frost Stories were on Audible
