When 17-year-old Danielle Levy goes missing, DS Wendy Knight and DCI Jack Culverhouse believe they have a routine case on their hands. Later, when a prominent local businessman is found dead in his warehouse, however, the case takes a whole new disturbing turn as Knight and Culverhouse begin to unravel the connections between the two cases, which leads to a dark and disturbing secret.

Loved the continuation from the 1st book in the series Too Close For Comfort this is a great audio book and I would listen to it in one sitting if I could.
Loved the twist at the ending didn't see it coming.
Love the banter between Knight and Culverhouse when they are in Culverhouse's office
When Wendy realises that she is pregnant and her mixture of emotions

"Guilty as sin"
I really enjoyed this audiobook as much as the book 1 but it had a slower pace which kept you guessing in the wrong places compared to the first. But that is what makes a good mystery thriller

"Just Another Death"
Most definitely yes. It's a thriller, full of mysteries and clues with an unbelievable ending. Great story and wonderful narration
The interwoven lives of suspects and police.
Nigel Patterson is absolutely amazing. I have listened to other books that he read beautifully. I have recommended him to other authors. He does an exceptional job.
There was a scenario with a female police officer that was quite touching.
Once again Mr. Patterson has done a remarkable rendering of a book. This is the second book in the series written by Adam Croft. I will definitely be checking out more of his work.
"Good twist at the end. Well worth a listen"
Guilty as Sin is the second book in the Knight and Culverhouse series, the author provides just enough back story for this to be a standalone read.
I thought the opening was promising and the idea for the plot interesting, but what could have been a big story just fell short of the mark for me.
I enjoyed some of the characters but I'm not sure about Wendy, it didn't seem right to me that the police force would have allowed her to return to such a responsible position so soon after suffering such horrific personal traumas.
It was a bit too gory for me too but that is just a personal opinion, if you don't mind a bit of gore there is a very good murder scene!
For me there was just too much going on for such a short book, and it lacked polish but it was worth reading for the twist at the end.
Excellent narration by Nigel Patterson, I like his voice, so easy to listen to and he is so good at accents. His characters are all so believable and realistic, a pleasure to listen to.

"Disturbing messy but great"
Nigel Patterson -did a great job his voice was easy to listen too, which kept me interested, and did well with the Scottish accents in the story .However I found it a little hard to follow at times. I felt it jumped around in certain places and I wasn't sure what was going on and who was talking as some of the characters ( British) sounded the same. I found I had to skip back a couple of times to see what was happening, or make sense of.
Adam Croft , I think is a little twisted but great with pulling you deeper in. It was like you were at the murder scene ,as if your there watching it all happen. It had me holding my chest and reacting , like i didn't want blood splatter to get on me or anything. I don't think I'll be psychologically scarred but what I enjoyed was it so "matter of fact " when your listening to them describe parts of the murder . I don't want to give anything away but " I had to make sure she was dead, so I slit her throat with the razor blade"
That's sooo disturbing!!! Especially when you realize how it all unfolds
All in all I thinking was well done

Loved this story sad that one if the lead characters lost her baby that should not have happened considering all that she went through, with her brother being a serial killer guess I missed one of the stories where that happened.
I find it amazing that police can discover things with just the slightest hint of information.
I received this free of charge from the author or narrator for an honest review.
