Another night, another shift for Commander George Gideon. Amidst the undertones of gang warfare, Gideon must deal with two psychopaths trailing pain and blood in their wake. One targets infants, and the other young women on London's foggy streets.
John Creasey (1908-1973) published over 600 books under 20+ different pseudonyms. In 1969 he was given the Mystery Writers of America's highest Honour, the Grand Master award.

If you want to hear Gideon as it woukd have sounded on thec1950's radio tyen this us tge recording for you. I found the stylde too ponderous and a lack of ability to injectt excitement into the narration that I have heard on other Gideon recordings.
I am a retired radiographer who loves books.Other hobbies includes knitting so audio books are great for when I am prevented from reading
I liked the story ,lots of interaction with different officers and different ranks. There were times the narration seemed dated. I could almost imagine the reader wearing evening suit and bow tie. Some background noise seemed to sound like pages being turned.
"don't be fooled"
This is another great story by a very prolific author. BUT, this reader is one of the worst I have ever heard. He is hesitant (almost studdering) and he hasn't a clue what the story he is reading is about. I will finish it because I do like the Gideon stories but I am cringing as I listen. This is one better read in book form. Try it on your kindle instead.
the person who read this book had the worst voice I've ever heard. the audio quality was even worse, with a "tinny" quality to the entire audio book. Stay away!
