Summary

Tough, resourceful, and ruthless, ex-SAS trooper Nick Stone is now working for British Intelligence on deniable operations. And is desperately in need of cash. When he is offered a lucrative freelance job, Stone thinks his problems are over. All he needs to do is kidnap a Russian mafia warlord. And so Stone is thrust into the grim underworld of Estonia, with unknown aggressors stalking the Arctic landscape.

Russia has launched a cyber-espionage attack, hacking into the West's most sensitive military secrets. Stone must stop them. But the mafia are waiting in the wings with their own chillingly brutal solution....

A true blockbuster

I loved this story, which is almost 4 stories in one, each one building the tension to an explosive climax.

A Total Revelation

I wasn't prepared for how good this book was going to be. It is a well written action story that starts off with a high adrenalin sequence, introduces you to a likeable, funny and fallible main character, builds tension by putting the hero at risk and really gets into the detail of tradecraft. After reading it I immediately went and bought the first in the series, and I'm steadily working my way through all of them.

Andy Mcnab

These books are amazing. Nick Stone is deadly, charming, rough, intelligent, stupid, cultured, surprising, and compassionate as he can be. I'm reading the lot, it's an education..

Great book. Story not quite as good as the last 2

loved the narrator. Story wasn't good as the last 2 but still well worth a listen.

Really quite boring far to much nonsense.

He has lost lost the plot in many ways very drab to much "I put one foot in front of the other" just walking would suffice!!!!!

Brutal and liveable continuation of the greatest Antihero

The ultimate underdog, Nick Stone takes the hits and pulls no punches. Gritty, determined, funny and all very visceral and real.

You feel the cold, you feel the fear, your head swims with the concussions, your hope soars with the prospect of the payday, and crashes back down when things go sideways.

I grew up reading this series, and the narration is exactly how I heard it when I first read the books 20years ago! Top notch!

A look into another world.

The places of interest are real world.
An adventure into espionage and betrayal.
I felt the cold. The traps were only overcome by Nicks past brutal training and determination. An enjoyable tale.
