If you enjoy Elizabeth Peter's Vicky Bliss series or Romancing the Stone, Elusive has the same mix of mystery, international travel, and light romance.
Zoe Hunter loves living on the edge. free-spirited and spontaneous, she's built a life stringing together various freelance gigs that keep her bank account barely in the black.
But when her ex, Jack, goes missing along with several million dollars from his business and the FBI zeros in on her as a person of interest, Zoe's life goes from delightfully unpredictable to downright frightening.
Plunged into a world of fake identities, deception, and murder, she's afraid to trust anyone. Zoe impulsively skips town in a search for answers that takes her from Las Vegas to Italy, but instead of tracking down answers, she only uncovers more questions.
Who was Jack? Is he dead or did he fake his disappearance? And, what was he mixed up in - art theft, the mafia, espionage, or all three?

"Great Cozy Mystery!"
This mystery not only held my attention but there were a few times when I was on the edge of my seat! The description of archeological Vesuvius was as if I was there! And the twists and turns kept me guessing.
"12 Million dollars is a lot of money!"
Elusive is a good read or in my case a good listen! Plot was good, characters well developed. It kept my interest from start to finish . Narrator was good and for me a narrator can make or break the book. I am ready to read or listen to Elusive 2. I received the PDF version at no cost but I paid for the Audible version. This is my honest review. I have not read anything by this author before and was not familiar with her name. I'm saying this because I will be looking for other books she has written.
Very intense. I loved it. I can hardly wait for book 2. This story kept my attention from the third page on.
"Thoroughly enjoy this series"
This is one of my favorite "cozy mystery" series. I've read all of them and now I'm listening to them as I power walk. My favorite thing about this series is it is so different from most cozy mysteries. It is more of an adventure series than a whodunit. The books are set in various locations around the world. Each book comes to a satisfying conclusion with the tease of more adventure to come. My only issue with the performance is once in a while the character with the southern accent is a bit grating. (And I live in the south.) A great book that the whole family, tween to grandparents, could enjoy on a road trip.
Really fantastic job by narrator made it so much fun to listen to. Great story.
was great for my road trip. would recommend but only good for one listen!! I g
"Great start to a series"
What a great book. I got it because I needed a cheap and long audiobook for work and this popped up. I will now buy all the books in this series. The reading performance was great too
