Summary

Judith Rashleigh returns in the stunning new thriller from the author of the worldwide number one best seller Maestra.

She thought her troubles were over...they're only just getting started.

Judith Rashleigh has made it. Living a life of luxury amidst the splendour of Venice, she's just starting to grow comfortable. Which is when her past catches up with her.

Someone knows what Judith's done. Facing blackmail, Judith can save herself only by finding a priceless picture - unfortunately one she's convinced doesn't exist.

And she isn't the only one seeking it.

This time Judith isn't in control. Outflanked and out-thought, outrun and outgunned, she faces an enemy more powerful and more ruthless than she ever imagined. And if she doesn't win, she dies.

Superb in every way

A different feel to the first book in the trilogy but still a complete mastery of several genres

Phew!!!

Another L. S. HILTON triumph.
Its performance by Emilia Fox a masterstroke, bringing the multitudinous characters to life and keeping the story bowling along with nuances of innuendo in her beautiful voice. I can hardly wait to start the next book.

Okay, but nothing on Maestra.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Yes and no. This was good to listen to and I wanted to know what Judith did next... But. This book feels like it is really trying to be too clever in parts. There are a lot of webs and people to track, and it really, really relies on information and action that occurred in the previous book. That was possibly the most disappointing thing. I LOVED Maestra. I loved the story and people and locations and constantly different things that happened... It felt like there was this amazing story arc to follow and be involved with. For me, this book lacked that. It felt constantly like the same story just going on and on which did make it boring in parts for me. I felt the story, sex and characters were fine, just no where near and great and interesting and intriguing as Maestra...

What was most disappointing about L. S. Hilton’s story?

The two big childhood reveals were a little too cliché.

What about Emilia Fox’s performance did you like?

Emilia Fox, as ever, was brilliant. I love that she came back for the sequel and hope she will do the next.

Do you think Domina needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Sure. I just hope the author can carry it effectively as a standalone story that doesn't so hugely rely on the prequels.

Any additional comments?

I liked it, but LOVED Maestra. I feel this book was trying to be too clever and got mirred in its one main storyline also harking too much back to the original book. It is good. And I do like knowing what Judith did next. I will hope for more from the next one.

As enjoyable as Maestra for the intelligent racy reader

I loved it from start to finish it's a good story and I found the attention to detail especially around Caravaggio very interesting and worked well alongside the books main story and characters.

Can't wait for the third book.

Review of the SERIES...

Really enjoyed the first two novels on the series and especially the rendition of the character by Emelia Fox ... so very disappointed that she did not read the third book in the series which in my view sounded as if Sophie was reading at gun point!
Her voice droned on especially during the narration picking up when other characters were involved, indeed I thought she was good at this ... Chapter Six was awful as read by Sophie, indeed it is an excellent example of what I mean... she reads as if she is bored with the book and would rather be having a siesta...
the story was very good and the research was detailed and very interesting.
Should you be tempted to read just this one you could get away with it and it happily does not repeat the story line from the first two books to the point where if you have listened to them you are frustrated with the repetition (as in book two), however I do think one should listen to them all, even if it’s just to try to get your head/ imagination round the more raunchy descriptions !

Great book

It's just not as easy to follow as the first. Jumps around a bit and I forget who matches the names thanks to my memory. Still a good story though!
