    "A blast from the past!"

I stumbled across this little gem by accident and have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it. The stories have been based on the original tv scripts and are, therefore, true to the era. The quality of the performances (well David Tennant as Andy in the first series says it all!) was excellent throughout and the whole thing was so well done that I found myself searching for more - sadly there are none. A genuine delight, particularly if your memories of tea time on Saturdays at the age of nine or ten, involved Jack Warner's 'Evening all'!

I love reading, both in print and in audio. I'm not a native English speaker so please excuse any spelling/grammar mistakes.

"Enjoyable radio drama to discover the character by"

Nice salt-of-the-earth feel to the dramatisation. I liked the stories and the character of George Dixon. I never watched the series but I guess it would be very nice for nostalgic viewers too.

    "a glimpse back in time"

I loved this series it was like stepping back in time. to a time when people still had respect for one another. it's well produced with a strong cast especially the first series. I missed David tenant in the second series.

    "Almost perfect"

Really enjoyed this book. Some good storylines: But why oh why did we have to have David Tennant (good actor though he is) playing Andy? His Scottish accent just does not fit the role.

Anyone who knows Dixon of Dock Green knows Andy was typically a Londoner, not a hint of a Scottish accent. Fo this reason, I do not award five stars as, for me, this spoilt it a little.

    "Dated and lame"

The audio acting and performance are fine but the stories are dated and a bit weak.
