Summary

Han er overbevist om, at han er i livsfare. Poirot og Hastings tøver ikke. De haster med det samme til Renaulds hjem, Villa Genevieve i Merlinville-sur-Mer på Frankrigs nordkyst. Men da de ankommer til villaens port, fortaeller politiet dem, at Renauld er blevet myrdet: Madame Renauld og hendes mand er blevet overfaldet midt om natten, madame Renauld er blevet bundet og hendes mand bortført.
