Summary

From the outside Carter Tomlin's life looks perfect: a big house, a pretty wife, two kids. But Tomlin has a secret. He's lost his job, the bills are mounting, and that perfect life is hanging by a thread. Desperate, he robs a bank. Then he robs another.

As the red flags start to go up, FBI Special Agent Carla Windermere hones in on Tomlin from one direction, while Minnesota state investigator Kirk Stevens picks up the trail from another. Because Carter Tomlin's decided he likes robbing banks. He has a new taste for violence. And he's not quitting anytime soon.

A Criminal Waste of Time and One Credit

What disappointed you about Criminal Enterprise?

Decent plot, which is what tempted me to spend my credit on it. This was ruined by so many flaws that I just couldn't believe the ludicrous nature of it all. Why on earth they needed the FBI to help track the culprits I still don't know.

What could Owen Laukkanen have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Re-write it? Maybe then he could produce something that lives up to some of the 'rave' reviews I read on other on-line sites before buying it! I kept wondering if I'd bought the wrong book because it was so poor.

Would you be willing to try another one of Jeff Harding’s performances?

Don't mind Jeff Harding but even he couldn't save this one for me.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Criminal Enterprise?

Needless to say I would lose the lot!

Any additional comments?

There are many things I disliked about this novel but singularly I found that I not only disliked every character, but I couldn't have cared less what happened to any of them either. How do these novels get published? Now there's something worth investigating!

Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
