love the humour

Easy read, would make a good movie.the characters are really quirky and interesting. I enjoyed the read.

Took a long time to get going

Mark others bits are much better, This story I found slow, and overly predictable. As it often happens with mark Gimenez’s books they are a very slow builder and to a big finale which is often over fast to quickly...

Excellent listen

No - I never listen to any book twice.

What other book might you compare Con Law to, and why?

He is a bit of a Jack Reacher - particularly as Jeff Harding also narrates Reacher.

good

After a slow 2nd chapter rambling on about the US Constitution for what seemed like half an hour or more, the fun picks back up like in the sample. (I was almost at the point of returning the book as it was boring me, but the classroom stuff early on doesn't last forever).

Glad I stuck with it, it has some nice plot twists and great characters, and Mr. Harding is always good to listen to.

I'll get more in this series.

Fantastic Read

Captivating from the word go. As Jeff Harding continues to narrate you are compelled to sit and listen to more and more. Jeff Harding is an excellent narrator and is an ideal complement to this story. I hope he narrates the follow up.

Great potential series.

Loved this book, great characters and great world to get sucked into. Only problem was the story was a little slow at times and also a little predictable. But the idea and potential for more in the series is great! Will definitely stick with reading Mark, awesome author.

More Murder Mystery than Courtroom Drama

I enjoyed this book, I came to read it after thoroughly enjoying "The case against William" and wanted more of the same. I didn't quite get it, but what I did get was an enjoyable story that just failed to grab me as much as I'd hoped.

The main protagonist Professor Bookman is a likeable hero but unfortunately some points in his life and by extension this book are a bit boring.

The story starts very slowly in Book's classroom and I honestly felt like I was in a lecture, the idea was no doubt to introduce us to some of the characters but to be honest it was boring.

then we start getting to the actual story which was the decent part of the plot and I did enjoy things once we got out of the classroom, no spoilers but there are several arcs which are connected going on simultaneously and were introduced to a cast of characters and so begins the whodunnit.

The novel comes to a close and is told in quite an unexpected way, we verge on the farcical and for some reason elements of a Dan Brown book come to mind in the way it begins to play out. It's not necessarily a bad ending but just feels a little rushed.

If you're from the UK and you listen to the sample your first thoughts of the narrator will probably be negative, listen to the whole sample and get used to his voice, he's really very good once you get used to him.

Overall if you have enjoyed the authors previous books you will probably enjoy this one too, I will no doubt pick up the next in the series to see where else the professor takes us, I hope it takes us into the court room, because we didn't see any courtroom action here.

The way his intern responded to his requests and questions really witty I could picture her so clearly especially as she was narrated
