Christmas normally descends on Lake Eden, Minnesota, as gently as reindeer alighting on a rooftop - but this yuletide season the only thing coming down Hannah Swensen's chimney is a case of murder.
The holidays have arrived, and Hannah and her good pal, Lisa, have agreed to provide all the goodies for the town's annual production of A Christmas Carol. But before anyone can say "bah, humbug!" a Santa-size sackful of trouble ensues. Like the fact that Lisa's husband will be playing Mr. Claus to his ex-girlfriend Phyllis Bates' Mrs. Claus. Or that before the curtains even go up, Phyllis is found dead in the snow - wearing a costume that the real Mrs. Claus would put on the naughty list. Soon after, the suspects pile up faster than snowdrifts in a blizzard while a merry murderer remains on the loose. With clues even harder to find, it might take a visit from ghosts of Christmas past to wrap up this mystery in time for the holidays.

I am disappointed that this story didn't follow the wedding book. It is the first Hannah Swensen mystery that I read by audio. I prefer the printed version.
Repetitive, far fetched, uninspired...and, wait! Isn't Hannah supposed to be married? It seemed like it alluded to the same old platonic mike-Hannah-Norman triangle! Where was Ross? Was this entire book a flashback??!! I think I am done with this series. Good news?? Hannah finally knows how to use her cell phone!
I love Mohammed Swenson novel. It's one gets better this one just confused me for a little bit until I remembered that she was telling the story from the Christmas before she met Ross.
"Does not move series forward"
If you read these books because of the on-going storyline, you can skip this one. It occurs before Hannah married. Sorry I wasted a credit.
"I don't believe Joanne Fluke is writing any longer"
Someone has to be writing the last few books for her. They are so bad. This used to be a great series. The worst part this wasn't even a normal size book and it must be a stand alone or a forgotten book with no warning, I get it was Christmas Carol but to switch back before she was married, was confusing to me and others. Feel extremely ripped off.
Lord of the Slient, I can always count on Elizabeth Peters
Dolores, Suzanne always does a great job
NO they already ruined this with Allison Sweeney playing Hannah on Hallmark. It isn't even the character in the book. She should have played Andrea her look is perfect for that. TV ruins all books.
"Delicious Murder Strikes Again!"
This is a light fluffy murder investigation adorned with tasty Christmas treats. I enjoyed the plot although I was dissatisfied with the reading of the recipes. They interfered with the flow of the story. Ms. Toren read the story very well but I prefer the TV movies of these books.
This book was a great read. I hope a new longer book about Hannah and Ross will come out soon.
"Not my favorite"
not my favorite, but an old friend anyway...plus there are the recipies, those are my favorite :-)
