Summary

When Sienna Hegarty turns up at his family home one night, covered in blood and frozen in shock, psychologist Joe O'Loughlin finds himself drawn deep into her world, trying to unearth the dark secrets her mind has buried. The police find a major piece of the puzzle at Sienna’s house: her father, a retired cop, is face-down in a pool of his own blood, his throat slashed and his skull caved in. The blood covering Sienna was his.

The 14-year-old can’t remember what happened that night but, at the same time, Sienna doesn’t mourn her father’s death. What was going on behind closed doors in the Hegarty household? Is Sienna guilty of brutal murder? And what part has her charismatic teacher, Gordon Ellis, played in this blood-soaked event?

Another great Robotham book

I read this immediately after finishing 'Shattered' and so it had a lot to live up to....however it did not disappoint. Joe is fast becoming my favourite lead in a thriller. Cant recommend enough!

Bleed for me

Wasn’t sure what to expect with this book as not read this author before but knew the narrator so quite happy to give it a try! Delighted that I did! A wealth of characters, plots, thought provoking and great story lines, loved it and will certainly be getting more by this author!

A good story and excellent narrator

Would you consider the audio edition of Bleed for Me to be better than the print version?

I haven't read the print version and I never have time to do so. That's why audio books are great for me. I can listen on the go, at the gym, doing menial tasks so they are more bearable, in bed at night.

What other book might you compare Bleed for Me to, and why?

Others of the Joe Loughlin series but it also had a 'personality' of its own

What does Sean Barrett bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

He brings the characters to life. Sean Barrett is such a good narrator! There are some books that should be re recorded by him and thus the authors would get far more sales than they do when they are recorded by such indifferent other readers.

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

No idea

Any additional comments?

I like Michael Robtham and I like the joe Loughlin and Ruiz series. In this book one seemed to become moreinvolved with them, particularly Joe. Hope he keeps writing more! Must be difficult to keep thinking of new ideas but keep at it Michael Robotham!
And please only get Sean Barrett to read them He makes the characters so believable.

Another good one from Mr Robotham

Yet again Michael Robotham weaves a plot of intrigue and power from the human heart. Jo is again in the central role and his character continues to develop with his sidekick Mr Parkinson. If you like a good psychological thriller this is one you will enjoy. Well written with a personal touch that draws you into Jo's world of work and family.

Good read

Perhaps if i hadn't read the previous two books in this series I'd have enjoyed it more, but it seems so implausible that this character would continually be surrounded by such dodgy characters so close to home and as for a psychologist solving so many crimes... it does push the need for suspension of disbelief. At the same time I enjoyed this book, the character is likeable and the narrator is great.
