Summary
A chilling psychological thriller for fans of Gillian Flynn, Nicci French, Sophie Hannah, S. J. Watson and Elizabeth Haynes that will haunt you long after you've finished listening....
In this dark psychological thriller, Olivia Taylor believes she has suffered the worst life can throw at her after the breakup of her marriage. Full of hope, she starts a new life with her nine-year-old daughter, Ellie, only to find the worst is yet to come.
Meeting Michael Crossman is the beginning of an unspeakable nightmare for Olivia, and her world slowly unravels. It is only through the retelling of her story that we piece together what has led her to become a mere shadow of the woman she once was.

Horrible book
I have made the conscious decision to spare myself the rest of the book after struggling to arrive at the 19 chapter. I have never left a book unfinished but keep listening to this is unsettling. The Not only the boom does not have a convincing plot, but it is long creepy and unnecessary in most of the drama with the relationship with Micheal and Olivia.
On advice do not read buy a gift this book is grim and sadistic and I feel pity for the mind who create this brutal book Caterina Out.

Terrible ending
Would you try another book written by Kathryn Croft or narrated by Lisa Coleman?
Have read and enjoyed Kathryn Croft books before, this one was mediocre, the ending felt rushed and unexplained. A very disappointing end

I hated it
Olivia is a disappointment selfish and stupid woman. I was not convinced be her relationship or the ending. The book was 90% boring and slow. Even the readers voice was boring. Don't understand why this has such great reviews. A terrible book!

Behind Closed Doors
This book was far too long and drawn out and the central character, Olivia Taylor, was weak and dreary. The relationship between Michael and Olivia was also pretty unbelievable and incredibly brutal. He seemed such a pernickerity tedious control freak that I have no idea why she craved him so much.
A bizarre denouement too. Overall: a huge disappointment.

It the best but kept me keen to read
I did enjoy the book but it was rather predictable I felt. I'm not sure how to describe the way I felt at the end, more questions than answers to an end?

Failure. Don't bother
What disappointed you about Behind Closed Doors?
The story was unconvincing and weak. I was looking for a good, enjoyable listen and I like the psychological thriller genre, and whilst the narrator was excellent, the main characters in the book were awful. I guessed the denouement about a quarter of the way through, but hoped it was wrong and the story would get more developed, but it didn't. Terrible ending. It felt like the author was casting around for an idea of bringing the book to a close, and came up with something that was hasty and shocking.
Has Behind Closed Doors put you off other books in this genre?
No, I usually enjoy this genre.
Which character – as performed by Lisa Coleman – was your favourite?
None.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Behind Closed Doors?
The beginning, middle and end.
Any additional comments?
Narrator was excellent.

Not interesting
The story was flat and the conclusion did not justify the suspense.
None of the 3 main characters were likeable, and Olivia was difficult to relate to, her immediate obsession with her neighbour was not realistic.
Disappointing read the book should not be compared to Gillian Flynn or S.J Watson
