The Lambert Family is heading to Crescent Lake, a rural cabin community in western Pennsylvania, for an idyllic weekend getaway. Some fishing, some barbecue, some games...
The Fannelli brothers are heading to Crescent Lake too. Some stalking, some kidnapping, some murder, definitely some games - though not necessarily the type of games the Lamberts had in mind.
But it doesn't matter. The Lamberts are going to play whether they like it or not.
An intense psychological thriller, Bad Games has the dark, mind-bending terror of Cape Fear combined with the fish-out-of-water dread and suspense of Deliverance.
So let Jeff Menapace's best-selling thriller keep you up all night as it delves into the mystery of nature versus nurture when comprehending the evil in man, along with the will and determination an innocent family must summon to fight back against horrific odds.
Bonus! Includes the first chapter of the pulse-pounding sequel, Vengeful Games.

"Wow! This Was SO Good!"
Nail biting suspense, humor, twists and turns. Well written and narrated story. Don’t want to say anything else, no spoilers. I’ll remember this one for a long time. Well worth your time, money or credit. There is some violence but surprisingly not as much as you might expect. The ending will raise the hairs on the back of your neck.
"Action, humor, and horror mixed in..."
I loved the humor of this book. How the author kept humor and quirkiness going throughout the entire story is an art. There are so many bad things happening yet they feel almost normal, because of the author's gift of weaving humor into horror.
I thought it was super gross and memorable when the dog ate the finger out of the bait can of worms. If this had happened with my dog I would have lost all of my composure.
I really liked the dad in the story he was the leading character and had my attention the whole time.
I wanted to finish this book to find out the outcome of the family involved however, I was not able to finish it all in one setting.
If you want to hear a book that takes horror and adds some humor and expert story details I think this is the book that can do that.
"What a surprise!"
I hadn't heard of this author or narrator before but they both delivered a really good experience. This book is disturbing but is very nicely paced with several "I did not see that coming" moments. Gary Tiedemann does a nice job with the narration. I will certainly look for more by Jeff Menapace and Tiedemann.
"Overall not bad."
Not bad. Started out strong but became predictable towards the end. would have liked the stroy to have a little bit more drama and less romance. Did like the end with the little boy.
"Really enjoyed it"
This is my first audible book i've listen to and finished. Gosh those brothers were disgusting. Major assholes!
The Narrator was awesome and i just couldn't put this book down. I even got angry and sad from time to time. Overall it was an awesome story and i recommend it. P.S. Amy is my favorite character. She knew all along. My hero!
"Bad to the Bone!!"
Fear the Worst - Linwood BarclayBoth books had me jumping while I listened to the audiobook.
The Fannelli Brothers & Patrick!! It's hard to narrow it down to one, because Mr. Tiedemann did an excellent job with the narration on this book.
When The Fannelli Brothers traded the doll for the candy. That's when the reader know that the Bad Games was just starting.
"A Good Twisty Listen"
Great Time Passer. The story beginning of the story hooks you immediately, there are some none realistic situations and the characters are made to be way too nieve.
Modern/Remake of Deliverance
Didnt really have a favorite
"Good but very disturbing"
A definite psychological thriller, not for the faint of heart. It read like a movie and towards the end I knew the outcome and guessed the "twist" at the end. But overall a good listen. Worth a credit
The reviews were misleading as this novel turned out pretty mediocre. There wasn't anything overly interesting or genius about the motives of the main characters, it read like a story that's been heard a hundred times, and by the end you realize that there isn't any super twist that makes you think you should of been paying more attention to details. I would go as far as to say that some of the actions of the brothers early in the novel was unnecessary and damaging to the overall novel. That being said, it was the narrator that added enough life to the simple story to keep me going to the end. The end is one of two possible endings that, satisfyingly, complete a story such as this. If it wasn't for the preview of the next book in the series at the end of this audiobook I would have lowered my rating.
After reading a lot of positive reviews of this book I decided to take a chance. I am a fan of horrific suspense, but this was done rather poorly. I don't have a problem with gore or violence, but this was just pointless grossness. Terribly predictable from start to finish. Aspects that were supposed to be veiled foreshadowing were actually foghorns of "here's where the plot is going".
I'm actually from many of the locations described in this book. It's a minor point, but the geography described was completely incorrect.
The narration was good. That's about all I can say for this hamfisted attempt at suspense. There are much better offerings out there and you should take the time to find them and not waste listening hours on this.
