When Agatha, who happens to be the PR person for the water company, finds the council chairman murdered at the spring, tongues start wagging. Could one of the council members have silenced the chairman before he could cast the deciding vote?

It is up to Agatha, still nursing a bruised heart from her broken engagement, to investigate the councillors, solve the crime - and promote the water company in the face of all this scandal.

"Only good thing is the reader!"

Penelope Keith is the only thing about this book that makes it worth listening too.
The Raisin stories tend to follow the same format which becomes very boring if you listen/read more than one.
The vicar's wife is perhaps the only likeable person in these books.
The story isn't that brilliant, even allowing for the fact that it is 'cosy'.

The only mystery is how the author gets away with writing what is effectively the same book over and over again.

    "Highly enjoyable light listening"

This is not my usual fare. I came across the first 4 novels in a compendium I bought by impulse in a sale. I read and thoroughly enjoyed them as a some holiday reading.

The audiobooks are well enough read by Penelope Keith. Some of the characterisations may be a bit lacking but the story telling is engaging.

As bed time listening they are recommended.

    "One of the best series"

Since the Agatha Raisin series is not available in German, I started reading them in English. Penepole Keith IS Agatha. I downloaded a lot of the audiobooks and after finishing one, I cant wait to start the next one.
