Summary
Set at the heart of political power in Washington, DC, Absolute Power was the novel which launched David Baldacci's career as a worldwide best seller of thrilling fiction. The movie, starring Clint Eastwood, was a major box office success across the world.
In a heavily guarded mansion in the Virginian countryside, professional burglar and break-in artist Luther Whitney is trapped behind a one-way mirror. What he witnesses destroys his faith in not only justice but all he holds dear.
What follows is an unthinkable abuse of power and a criminal conspiracy, as a breathtaking cover-up is set in motion by those appointed to work for one of the most important people in the world - the president of the United States.

Nice listen.
This was the book that began david baldacci's writing career and you can see why he is one of the best at what he does. Great action thrillers. I was so happy to see that audible finally had this book to download. Scott does another great job of narrating this book. If you want a good listen then this is the book for you.

Painfully Read
What disappointed you about Absolute Power?
This is a great story by a great writer. Sadly the narrator is so boring I haven't got out of the first chapter before returning it. I can only liken his tone to a vicar giving a sermon.
Would you be willing to try another one of Scott Brick’s performances?
No never ever that is unless I ever start to suffer from insomnia !!
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Botedom
Any additional comments?

Good story but...
Scott bricks narration was excellent as always and the story was good, however the daughter of Luther Whitney was so irritating that I almost gave up on the book every time she entered the story. I also could have done without the flag waving and orchestra at the end. A real shame.

Ludicrous plot
A ludicrous plot, full of holes, with bungling Secret Service and police officers. Totally unbelievable. Scott Brick did his best with the material given to him.

Brilliant
I've read many of david Baldacci 's books, and decided to give this a once over. The book is well narrated and paced nicely to keep you coming back for more. Possibly one of the best books I've listened to / read of all time 👍
