Summary

As Sandro gets to grips with the dispiriting realities of life as a private detective, touting for business among old contacts and following errant teenagers, an old case comes back to haunt him... Loni Meadows - the glamorous, charming and ruthless director of an artistic Foundation based in a castle in the hills outside Florence - is found dead in circumstances Sandro cannot convince himself are accidental. He soon finds himself drawn into the lives of the castle's highly strung community and the closed world they inhabit in the Casentino's isolated hills.

Pleasant well developed story

A pleasant well developed story, but didn't have the pace I like in thrillers, and only just held my attention, not one that you steal time from your day for indulgent pleasure. I couldn't fault the narration or production, Saul Reichlin was excellent as always, and I love to hear him describe Italy and it's people and culture.

Disappointing novel

Having listened to another of Christobel Kent's Novels which I thoroughly enjoyed, I found this book a huge disappointment. Eventually I stopped listening because I realized I was too bored to care what happened in the end!
