I was dead for 13 minutes. I don't remember how I ended up in the icy water, but I do know this - it wasn't an accident, and I wasn't suicidal. They say you should keep your friends close and your enemies closer, but when you're a teenage girl, it's hard to tell them apart.
My friends love me, I'm sure of it. But that doesn't mean they didn't try to kill me. Does it?
13 Minutes by Sarah Pinborough is a gripping psychological thriller about people, fears, manipulation and the power of the truth. A stunning listen, it questions our relationships - and what we really know about the people closest to us....

Loved this twisty turny adventurous journey through the minds of well thought out characters. An entertaining audible with fabulously addictive narration. Recommend.
Love books both fiction & non-fiction, but fairly new to audio books. Other interests inc country music, walking, heritage and travel.
It's clear I'm not the target audience for this book which is full of teenage angst, introspection and bad language. The format didn't work well on audio at times - for example with the text conversations. I struggled to get through it but if you're a young adult I'm sure you will enjoy it. The plot is done quite well - Natasha almost drowns (she dies for 13 minutes) but recovers except she's lost her memory. We meet her school friends and learn about her family as she tries to work out what happened to her. Slowly the mystery deepens and we see that things are not perhaps the way we first thought. I felt it was overly long and slow, but overall a good story worth 2.5 to 3 stars. The narrator did a very good job of being an annoying 16 year old schoolgirl.
I picked this in a 2for1 sale, so went in blind. Bitchy schoolgirls manipulate each other in story with slightly unsatisfying ending. I found this a little hard to listen to with two characters whose names start with the same syllable...but perhaps that is because I'm a middle aged teacher who has to untangle teenage melodrama on a daily basis.
Probably ok for teenage audience - not clear from the description that this is YA fiction. Full of cliched 2D characters, text talk, moans about parents, bitching etc. Very dull.
I listened to the whole audible which was ok, but being about a group of teenage girls, the subject matter was tedious. good narration though.
A story that grips from the beginning. fulfils your worst nightmare when mother to a daughter in this age of social media. good narration and satisfying ending. will be looking for another book by this author.
Yes, at some point. Compelling thriller.
Clear cut characters good or bad.
Cry for Hannah and anger towards Tasha and those weak enough to be used and manipulated by her. Do understand why someone would want to get rid of Tasha, complete bitch!
I write short stories and love reading. I can't stand poor grammar though. I like most types of books but I don't like erotica or romance.
Well like I just said it's not chick lit but it is young adult fiction. It's a careful calculated plot of murder, deceit, lies and treachery. Bitch, bitch, bitch. Taht's what you think when reading this book or I did anyway. It's not easy to have much sympathy with any of the characters. They're all shallow and bitchy but true and revealing. Well drawn and Tasha is pure evil. You don't have to like her but me, I admire her calculations and schemes to get others in to trouble while all the while having her own way and disposing of anyone that gets in ehr way even to the point of murder and framing somebody else. Overall a good book with plenty of suspense and plot and private life full of emotions typical of the tangled web of teenagers in love and at war with their inseurities. Brilliant.
I'm giving up on this book. There was just too much glorified drug use and bad language for me to hear the actual story. No doubt many teens do live and speak like this, but I found them so unlikeable that I couldn't care what happened to them. I do think that there should be some warning about the explicit language and content in the book description.
