Summary

Ever since he became a Christian at the age of forty, it has been Poirot actor David Suchet's dream to make an audio recording of the whole Bible. In between filming the final episodes of Poirot, David Suchet spent over 200 hours in the recording studio to create the very first full-length audio version of the NIV Bible spoken by a single British actor. Volume 1 of the NIV Audio Bible includes the Law, Histories and Poetry, covering the books of Genesis to Song of Songs.

The NIV Audio Bible is also available as an app.

PLEASE NOTE: When you purchase this title, the accompanying PDF will be available in your Audible Library along with the audio.

So where are the Book Markers!!????

What did you like best about Complete NIV Audio Bible, Volume 1: Law, History, Poetry? What did you like least?

So you hire David Suchet to read the entire Bible and he does a Magnificent job as you would expect. Then you package it all up and decide not to put in any labels on the chapter makers. This is the Bible, a collection of BOOKS and those books have Chapters and verses. now if you want to listen to lets say the book of John, you have to Guess where it is and what chapter to jump to.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, add correct labelling to the Chapter markers so they reflect the book they are jumping to.

Probably the best read Bible audio book, let down by the implementation of the editing and compilation of the audiobooks themselves.

Why why why why why WHY?

I cannot believe this great narration has been so ruined by a completely ridiculous lack of orderliness. NO BOOK titles? How on earth are we supposed to navigate these 66 books. Please do something about this as soon as possible. NIL PWANG

This is excellent. David Suchet brings the Bible to life.
The chapters need numbering correctly

Chapter headings a major shortcoming.

The work is read brilliantly. I have a visual impairment and prefer to study the bible using an audio version. Unfortunately the chapters are simply numbered instead of using the.name of the book. As it is, it is impossible to navigate to a particular book/chapter

Excellent performance by David Suchet

Nothing to add that hasn't been said in previous reviews! David Suchet is brilliant but the chapter numbering is a joke.

Thoughtlessly set out

An exemplary performance by David Suchet. Chapters bear no resemblance to those in the Bible nor even to books contained.

If only it had a index

Brilliant reading of a brilliant book. Shame you can't navigate around it. But I'm still pleased I got it.

Where's the index?

As most people know, the Bible is basically a library of 66 books all consisting of various chapters and verses but with this version there is absolutely no way of finding any given book, chapter or verse! True, there are chapter numbers down the left column but apart from the first book (Genesis) the chapter numbers simply continue on into the hundreds with absolutely no way of knowing what these numbers relate to! This would be fine if you choose to read the Bible from cover to cover but few people want to do that on a regular basis. This totally ruins what is a superb audio version of the Bible, beautifully read by David Suchet. Please sort this out!

Beautifully read

A very fine reading of the most famous book on earth.

I concur with other reviewers though about the chapter markings. It's confusing and irritating. This though is not a reflection on the performance of Suchet who clearly did a marvellous job.

Impossible to navigate

So you produce a recording of the Bible with the legendary Suchet but don't label the chapters?? Don't be fooled that there is also PDF guide...this has to be downloaded from the website and is not available on the app. So it you are using audible on your phone you are not able to access this guide.
