Publisher's Summary

A BBC Radio 4 Series in which physicist Brian Cox and comedian Robin Ince take a witty, irreverent and unashamedly rational look at the world according to science. Originally broadcast from 30 November 2009 - 21 December 2009. In the first episode, 'Comedy, Dinos, Scientific Method, Funding', former cosmologist Dara O'Briain and Dr Alice Roberts join Brian Cox and Robin Ince and ask why so many comedians seem to start life as scientists, and begin their quest to put science at the heart of popular culture.

Episode 2, 'SETI, Conspiracy, Golden Record', Robin and Brian are joined by alien abduction expert Jon Ronson and Seth Shostack from the SETI Institute in California to discuss science conspiracies, UFOs and the search for ET. In the third episode, 'Quantum Theory, Astrology, CERN', physicist turned comedian Ben Miller joins Brian and Robin to discuss quantum physics, and to explore whether astrology really shares its roots with more scientific pursuits. They also discuss the largest scientific experiment ever undertaken, currently storming ahead in a large underground tunnel just outside Geneva. In the fourth and final episode of this series, Robin and Brian are joined by Victor Stock, Dean of Guildford Cathedral, and science journalist Adam Rutherford for a special Christmas edition of the programme, 'Science and Religion'. Adam explains why religion really could be good for your health. Can Victor convert Robin and Brian in time for the festive season?

    "The Infinite Monkey Cage"

LOve it, love it, love it. If you are a fan of Dr Brian Cox you will love it. it is learning, reasoning, intelligent conversation in conveyed in a vey funny way! I am not an intellectual and there are many things I wanted to know about ie. Quantum physics!! would you believe, but its format is funny, bit risque, and extremely easy to listen to whilst doing ironing,, gadening etc...I also put on loud in kitchen so little ones can absorb without realising whilst eating dinner. This series is fab. It covers "boring" subjects and gives them a new light.

Please can we have more?? not so bored housewife from Leicestershire x

    "Interesting subjects made enjoyable"

I would recommend this to all who enjoy dipping their toe into interesting but difficult to understand subjects.

I found the light hearted banter a pleasure to listen to.
