Audible Editor Reviews

Joe Rogan opens Shiny Happy Jihad by digging into his former employers at Fear Factor: "I thought that f--kin' thing was gonna be cancelled immediately.... Four years later I'm standing in front of a chick with a mouth full of animal dicks, and I'm telling her, 'You can get more in there'". Freed from the pithy constraints of FCC regulations, Rogan shows why he's drawn comparisons to George Carlin, as he seamlessly weaves the profane and the poignant. A thinking man to be sure, Rogan discusses his Middle East Peace plan, which involves blanketing the region in cannabis smoke, and elsewhere offers sage advice for parents wishing to train their children in masturbation techniques.

    "One of the best"

Joe Rogan proves once again why he is one of the best standups in America. Bought this years ago and have listened to it many times. Joe just keeps getting better, can't wait for his new one to come out.

    "Not Your Average Joe!"

I just listened to this again after buying it a couple of years ago and I think I liked it better the second time. This time I might have giving it 5 stars. The problem with it is it is very crude and shocking. The reason it is so shocking is that it is based on truth. The truth about the depravity of the human condition, mainly the depravity of males. This is also why it is so good. Because it is so honest, it is also very funny. If you can stand crude and want to be captivated then don't miss this one.

    "Could be funny but..."
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Anyone that is incapable of carrying a conversation without swearing ten times in a five word sentence.

How could the performance have been better?

    Curb the language.

    Any additional comments?

The true stand-ups and humorous speakers are funny without vulgarity. The ones that cannot get through a performance without swearing every third or fourth word are amateurs. This guy has no class and his language serves only to distract from the performance. I am glad I never saw this guy live. After listening to how he interacts with his audience I would have left.
