Publisher's Summary

Few can forget where they were thirteen years ago when they first heard "Jeremy Hardy Speaks To The Nation". The show was an immediate smash-hit success, causing pubs to empty on a Saturday night, which was particularly astonishing since the show went out on Thursdays. Since that fateful first series, the show has gone on to win Sony awards, Writers Guild nominations and a Nobel Prize for Chemistry with lines like - "Kids should never be fashion slaves, especially in the Far East. My 12-year old daughter asked me for a new pair of trainers. I told her she was old enough to go out and make her own".

"The master of quietly inflammatory comedy" - (The Evening Standard)

"Made me drop the kettle in shock , but worth it" - (The Daily Telegraph)

"The one-liners come hit the target time and again so that youve hardly stopped grinning from one gag before the next one comes along..." - (The Evening Standard)

This is the Complete First Series, and contains 6 episodes, with the titles:

"How To Stay Alive For As Long As You Possibly Can"

"How To Be Truly Free"

"How To Earn Your Place In Heaven"

"How To Be An Adult"

"How To Have Sex"

"How To Know Your Place"

"Hilariously funny social commentary from a master."
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This is a fantastic series and if you've ever enjoyed Jeremy Hardy's comedy on The News Quiz or I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue you should give this a listen. If you've never heard Jeremy Hardy before his satirical comedy is very insightful and has a leftist middle-class perspective.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Frequently laughing out loud in public listening to this...

    Any additional comments?

One of the best radio comedies the BBC has produced.

    "Mr Grmupy"

I love a bit of Jeremy Hardy. He is the archetypal Mr Grumpy with a sly view of the world at large and how today is not as good as yesterday.

Putting the world to rights in episodic talks, this show will put a wry smile on your face. Not enough to laugh out loud but well worth a listen.
