You'll already know Greg Davies as Mr Gilbert, the psychotic Head of Sixth Form in 'The In-betweeners' (Channel 4) and 'The In-betweeners Movie', and as the most out-of-shape member of 'We Are Klang' (BBC Three).'Firing Cheeseballs at a Dog' is Greg's hotly anticipated debut stand-up show. A critically lauded sell-out smash hit at the Edinburgh festival where it picked up a prestigious nomination for the Foster's Comedy Award (formerly the Perrier) followed by a 100+ date, twice extended national tour. By spending months packing this show with hilarious content whilst simultaneously paying no attention to his diet or fitness levels Greg has ensured you're about to buy a show that is funny for the right and wrong reasons. Greg Davies has also appeared on 'Live at The Apollo', 'Have I Got News for You', and 'Ask Rhod Gilbert' (BBC One), 'Mock The Week', 'Never Mind the Buzzcocks' and Frank Skinner's 'Opinionated' (BBC Two), and '8 Out of 10 Cats' (Channel 4).

I like Greg Davis. He is a very good comedian. If you have seen some of his material before then you know what to expect. As with most staged comedies with some of the gags you need a little imagination, but besides from that this audio book is good.
Absolutely Fudging Hillarious
The man is the personification of funny
Hillarious! The only Audible item that I've bought and listened to repeatedly. I first listened to it whilst in my car commuting. I cannot do this anymore as I laugh so much I lose control of my limbs! This mans hilarity knows no bounds.
This is hilarious! Greg Davies is an excellent story teller and one of the funniest people around!! I have experienced a lot of strange looks for my laughter! Also still funny the 18th time round!!!
Never have I been so amused by anyone in my life. Greg reminiscing of his school days so matched the experiences of most pupils living through the 70/80s....the nick name section ....flippin excellent and bang on....he dragged up memories that I truely thought I'd forgotten....oh yes even in Norfolk schools a similar phrase of Chinny Reckon!!! did the rounds for many a term. Pure brilliance from start to finish. ....the cheeseballs situation. ..genius. would travel and travel to be entertained in this fashion and wish I'd seen the live show.
listened to this straight through and laughed out loud unexpectedly ... even tho i have seen this on tv. its somehow different in audio. dont get annoyed by the one joke whose punchline is visual...youll miss the good stuff after.
Probably the most boring bit of comedy I've heard. The jokes are constantly narrations of funny things that have happened to himself. Which in most cases no one else finds funny. A great comedian but this was not at all his best.
It's amazing to me that Greg Davies isn't bigger. I don't mean his size, I mean the guy is massive. What I mean to say is that his comical prowess is as ginormous as his stature. His calls himself a fat Rik Mayall but let me tell you, his comedy is just as blinding. You just can't help but laugh with him.
He holds court like a teacher but is as warm and relatable as a big brother. He teases his crowd and draws them into his life with humour and emotion.
After hearing his narrative I just want to tell his dad that I could not love him more. I'm glad he lets us into his life because knowing characters like his parents is truly a privilege. I'm wrapped that people like Greg and his family exist.
This is a wonderful standup routine that deserves to heard by the masses. A true star.
If you get the DVD make sure you listen to Greg and his friend Marek (another comedy gem) do a completely unrelated commentary. It's like hearing a bonus comedy routine. Their chemistry is a laugh out loud kind of brilliance. Listen out for the 'code word' regarding alligators.
I look forward to many more of Greg's shows. (NB: his assistant taken from the crowd is a real audience participation gem)
Enjoyed this made me laugh out loud several times whilst listening in the car - only downside was not being able to see the visuals that are used a couple of times on stage during the show - other than that very funny and poignant too in some places
"I love this man."
He is the best! Can't get enough of his standup. Netflix finally started streaming Cuckoo. Next, please start streaming Man Down.
