Summary

This is the very first record produced by Laughing Stock. Recorded at the Edinburgh Festival in 1991, it contains much of Arnold's best known and best loved works.

The former chartered accountant and 'Young One' combines satire and deadpan in one deadly hit, as he caustically examines royalty, politics, religion, feminism, and of course, tea rooms!

Sardonic, and why not

I remember Arnold Brown in the 1980s, and always wondered why such a funny man didn't have his own TV show. Maybe he didn't have the sufficiently violent edge to his humour associated with alternative comedians like Ben Elton, Adrian Edmondson and Rik Mayall. His style was more laid back, but clever with it and as sardonic as they come. His deadpan style is on full display in this 38 minute stand-up routine, and there are plenty of laughs to be had. And it's very cheap too. Go on, spoil yourself...
