Well written and passionate. A classic.
Makes me want to read Willa Cather and Sarah Waters again.
"kept hoping it would get better. hated it"
struggled to finish. after all of the dredging into thoughts and character...the reader was left to finish the storyline is the characters.
"Too long and too boring"
Narrator was excellent. The book was way too long, way too many details that did not enhance the story at all. I would have stopped reading it except for the fact that it was my book club's choice. I definitely do not recommend it.
