Editor reviews

"All for one! One for all!" This is the slogan of Alexandre Dumas’ romantic swordsmen, "the three musketeers", and their friend d’Artagnan. Originally published in the mid-19th century, The Three Musketeers is one of the best-loved adventure stories of all time. Performed here in the spirited and nimble English voice of Bill Homewood, the story recounts the exploits of d’Artagnan as he seeks revenge, has a brief and dangerous liaison with Milady de Winter, and joins the musketeers. Heavily abridged from Dumas’s original, this audiobook is like a greatest hits of the musketeers’ exploits.

Summary

In The Three Musketeers, one of the greatest adventure stories ever written, we follow the fortunes of the dashing young swordsman D'Artagnan and his daredevil companions Athos, Aramis, and Porthos. As the thrilling story unfolds, "The Four" find themselveds embroiled in duels, love tangles, and sinister intrigues which threaten the furtue of the king, the queen, and France herself.
