Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson investigate the legend of a supernatural hound, a beast that may be stalking a young heir on the fog-shrouded moorland that makes up his estate. The best of the Holmes novels!

Audible addict. Love picking up a new read.......review everything I've listened to on audible.
Unpredictable, mysterious, gothic
The most memorable scene for me is Dr Watsons discovery of the cave in the moors.....
Absolutely. It's a page turner
It's included on the 1001 book list and was a re read for me. Thoroughly recommended.
Obsessed with psychological thrillers, crime, mystery and dystopian fictions. A good drama now and again. A harsh critic at times.
I struggled to listen to this audiobook even though it was only six hours long as the narrator was sinfully boring. His accent was not reflective of a masterful Conan Doyle story and he made no effort to diffentiate between the characters. It ended up giving me a headache. The story itself though, if animated, is still a classic.
"The Hound Mystery"
It all depends on your circumstances. It is more convenient for me to listen to it.
This book is a classic Holmes books. Beautifully written and executed.
"A wonderful mystery of its time"
Well-constructed and with rich characters. Both Holmes and Watson at their best. Pether's narration leaves much to be desired though. Wooden, almost monotonous, with no differentiation in voicing. And he mispronounced a few words. Overall, worth bearing with the narration to read this classic mystery.
"Loved the narration"
I loved the narration and the story is a classic for a reason. I should have read it or listened to it way sooner.
"Held my attention, easy to follow."
Great story. I listened in one sitting during a drive. Narrator was very clear, paced well, but voice of characters simular to each other.
I really like this book because it has a great story line, and it's an old mystery which makes this story even better because it has all the fine words and has lots of suspense which is great!
"Well-narrated and moody"
Mr. Pether has a musical manner of speaking that lends an additional layer of character to this already distinctive tale. This was my first reading by the author, the narrator, and of this tale. All are quite pleasing and comfortable. I hope to read with them again.
This was my first listen here on audible and I must say it was quite enjoyable. John Pethers has a lovely voice on The Hound of the Baskervilles and I look forward to hearing more from this narrator. Love all the older classic detective books.
