Summary

Peter Pan and Tinkerbell lead the three Darling children over the rooftops of London and away to Neverland - the island where the lost boys play.

Magic and mischief is in the air, but if villainous Captain Hook has his way, before long someone will be swimming with the crocodiles.

A timeless classic ✨

I’ve listened to this audiobook for almost 16 years and never tired of it.

I only found out a few years back that this is an abridged version but the cuts made are judicious (cutting out majority of Barrie’s dated views) and don’t alter the story too much, although some charming details from the original tale are unfortunately absent.

The performances given by both actors are near perfect, with clear characters and dynamics at all the right places. I also enjoy the swap in a female to male narrator every few chapters, which keeps the ears engaged, as well as providing a strange feeling of being read to by both Peter and Wendy.

I can imagine the music is frustrating and perhaps naff to some but it’s simply too nostalgic for me to mind.

Listened for over 200 hours on this app alone and undoubtedly will re-listen for many more.

A dreamlike experience.

a surprisingly dark rendition of the story, although still age appropriate. The whole thing is well performed and had a dream like quality to it. Peter Pan himself comes across as quite alien, but the other children are relatable enough. Worth a listen.
