Summary

"Milton" is an epic poem by William Blake, written and illustrated between 1804 and 1810.

A truly terrible production

The first, English, narrator has a droning, almost toneless and banal voice. But at least his pronunciations are correct, and though he is far from inspiring, it’s possible to listen to him.

Then, inexplicably, the narrator changes. The second voice suddenly makes the former sound like one of the great orators by comparison. He is absolutely awful. His pronunciation of ‘annihilation’ is painful (and in this section Blake uses it again and again), and it is a serious struggle to listen to the last quarter of this poem as a result.

I really do not think this production could be much worse (unless the second narrator read the entire poem). Not impressed.

Droning voice makes it boring

The narrator hardly moderates his voice so it just drones on and on. Also there are mispronunciations, e.g. conshumation instead of consummation, conshumed instead of consumed..
