Summary

This collection of short stories contains several gothic tales featuring the macabre and chilling voices of writers as diverse as Edgar Allan Poe, Rudyard Kipling, Edith Nesbit, and MR James. These tales are designed to unsettle you, just a little, as you sit back and take in their words as they lead you on a walk to places you’d perhaps rather not visit on your own.

The stories in this audiobook are: "Facts of the Case of M. Valdemar", by Edgar Allan Poe; "The Phantom Rickshaw", by Rudyard Kipling; "Man-Size in Marble", by Edith Nesbit; and "Casting the Runes", by M. R. James. These stories are read for you by various readers, including Geoff McGivern, Bill Wallis, and Richard Mitchley.

Good narration all round enjoyed 3 out of 4 stories

1) The Facts in the Case of M. Valdemar - Written by Edgar Allan Poe, Read by Bill Wallace
2) The Phantom Rickshaw - Written by Rudyard Kipling, Read by Richard Mitchley
3) Mansize in Marble - Written by Edith Nesbit, Read by Geoff McGivern
4) Casting the Runes - Written by M.R. James, Read by unknown male narrator (not listed).

I enjoyed stories 2, 3, and 4 both the stories themselves and the narration.
I found story 1 too unpleasant but Bill Wallace is still an excellent narrator.
