Publisher's Summary

"It is a sin to write this. It is a sin to think words no others think and to put them down upon a paper no others are to see. It is base and evil." Deep issues of conscience are explored in Ayn Rand's dystopian tale of a man who dares to fight against a system that invades his very mind and identity.

I am a poetic writer who loves the way words paint a picture. I love the spoke word. My dream is to write, speak, and inspire others now.

"A Little Dose of Atlas Shrugged"

Listening to this novella was strangely empowering even with the dystopian feel it carries. l had to get to the end to make up my mind. lt dawned on me that it was a little dose of Atlas Shrugged.

lt got me revisiting my struggles thus far. The ending is magic. You'll see.

"Triumphant! A beautiful molding of the mind."

I'm writing this a week later and have already started another book. Though I must say this short book is still ringing in my head. We all know that moment in a good movie, the explosion the bridge brings in a powerful song and the whimsical climax of a well written book.. This book gave me that. Is it for everyone, probably not. If you struggle getting out of your bubble and are so gripped by your own understanding and way of thought.. Find another book. If you can appreciate where this character is in time, where he is coming from and where he ends up.. If you can understand that without the teachings of a god, this is the most precious gift. Understanding ones self. It's beautiful; the explanation of love, friendship, hate, ego and reason you breathe. I can go on and on, but why should I? It's all in this book. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

BJ Harrison was amazing... I think Ayn would have like it
It was exactly what Ayn Rand has always taught.

"If you think you'll like this book read it"

Anthem is brilliantly its story is painted eloquently by Ayn Rand's writing and B.J Harrison's narration. It is remarkably introspective about society and the human spirit, creating a very real world and life-like atmosphere. Warning though if you need a lot of action this is not the book for you.

"What have you to fear from collectivism?"

    Only the following:

    1. Acting on contrary beliefs, disorienting your conscious experience.
    2. Consistently selling yourself short, as "not good enough," or as someone whose opinions have no value, because they go against the "social grain."
    3. Pervasive, brooding feelings of emptiness.
    4. Chronic, hopeless sense of exhaustion.
    5. Allowing the moods of others to dictate the mood of yourself around others.

Although Ayn Rand was polemical in her nonfiction works, the empowering and individualist sense of life one receives from her works of fiction is second-to-none. Ignore her works of poetic realism at your peril.

    Any additional comments?

Story was mildly interesting, but the real meat came at the very end, where Ayn Rand really gets into her philosophy.

    "MUST READ MANY TIMES OVER"

Everyone should read this book many times over! So you'll be prepared to read it aloud to your children or employees. After I read it a few times, I thought it was juvenile in comparison to THE FOUNTAINHEAD, and ATLAS SHRUGGED, not so! After having read and/or listened each of these books many times, I see a depth unseen previously. This book is more than a mere primer for Ayn's later books, but a stand alone living book.
