Fans of Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson and the Olympians and Peter Lerangis' Seven Wonders series will embrace this first epic adventure in a rollicking new series by a New York Times best-selling author.
Will Wilder is a mischievous, headstrong 12-year-old with an otherworldly gift - he alone can see the nefarious creatures encroaching on Perilous Falls. For nearly a century, a sacred relic has protected his hometown from the raging waters surrounding it. But when Will "borrows" the relic for his own purposes, he accidentally unleashes an ancient evil.
As boats sink and hideous creatures crawl from the rising waters, Will must set things right before it is too late. With the help of his sweet (if lethal) great-aunt Lucille, the curator of a museum of powerful artifacts, Will proves that the actions of one 12-year-old boy can change the world.

"A page turner."
We have already listened to it a second time.
Lots suspense and humor.
He is terrific and has a true gift for story telling.
I can't wait for the sequel.
"great story, but might be too scary for some"
could not stop listening and stayed up late to hear how the story ended. well read by the author, great variety of characters and personalities. bit of indiana jones and lots of imagination. know your readers because the dark demons are too scary for my 10 year old, but the scary parts would not phase other kids who are less sensitive. this is all fiction and does not explain a Catholic understanding of relics, it just tells a story with lots of action, near hopeless moments, courage and friendship, and good vs. evil classic story.
"Excellent Story & Performance!"
A fun read for All. Great Story & Excellent Storytelling by Mr. Aroyo. We were totally engrossed by the story, and thoroughly enjoyed the sometimes scary, but cleverly unfolding adventure of Will and his friends in "Perilous Falls".
This was a very exciting yet fun read. Plus it was Educational without being too preachy, nor was it overtly catechetical and moralizing. My 9 year old and I were very impressed by the amount of things we learned about our Faith, the limits of naturalism, as well as the importance of knowing our history and reading the Bible.
The performance was exceptional, Mr Aroyo is a very giftede v.oice actor, we can't wait to read Part Ii.
"Fantastic story, incredible performance!"
I cannot say enough about Raymond Arroyo's talent. The story is excellent, and the performance is nothing short of amazing. If he didn't have so many jobs already--journalist, producer, author, etc.--Raymond Arroyo could make a full-time career out of book narration.
Arroyo's training as an actor is really evident here. It's hard to believe all the voices in this story are his!
I started listening to Will Wilder: The Relic of Perilous Falls to see if it would hold the interest of my niece, nephew and younger cousins, and became entranced myself. Young and old alike will enjoy this expertly-crafted adventure story. Highly recommended!
An excellent rendition of an awesomely creative tale. Nice mix of captivating story and characters!
A phenomenal story written by & narrated by the author (as only Raymond Arroyo can do)! This audiobook version conbines both superb storytelling, and characters that are easily seen in the mind's eye. This story is a rollicking good read filled with edge of your seat moments , genuine humor & the age old struggle of good verses evil. The interplay between the siblings, their parents & friends is so true to life that this reader could tell that the author had experienced some of the sibling rivalry himself, perhaps during boyhood, or as a parent of 3 kids, (if not both).
My recommendation is to get this book & read it, as well as getting the audio book version to hear the characters come to life under the mastercraftmanship of a truely creative & talented man. You won't be sorry!
"My children loved the story"
Great book, my twin 9 year olds listened to the enter audiobook in three days.
"Add fantastic character voices to Raymond Arroyo's many talents!"
Engaging story read by the author with wonderful character voices that make the story come alive for young and old alike. Looking forward to the entire 10 volume series....
