Summary

Brought to you by Puffin.

Coming soon to Disney+!

Half boy. Half God. ALL Hero.

My life could have been the same as an ordinary teenager. Except my dad is Poseidon, and I live in a camp full of half Gods and mythical creatures. So instead, my days are spent combatting half-lion half-humans and trying to live a somewhat normal life. But normalcy has just gone out the window. My friend Annabeth is missing, a Goddess is in chains, and only five of us can join the quest to save the day. Oh and guess what. The Oracle has predicted that not all of us will survive....

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM PERCY JACKSON:

  • Monsters
  • Greek Gods
  • Laughs (and terrified screams)

Narrator lets down a great story

love the set of books have now got the entire set. Find them easy to follow. the only let down is the limited range of the narrator. It would be amazing if there was another narrator to pick from but it's not like it will stop me listening.

Very good

This book is very good, unlike some of the other books i have listened too, Jeese really expressed the characters, and they have different voices for each character, which is very good. There is not much to say about this book, i am not into gods and other things like that, but im more into fantasy like... grover! He is a goat boy type thing, which is a bit like one of those things from harry potter that is half human half horse. Anyway, overall great book and i love listening to them. Overall 5 stars because it is very good. Performance 5 stars because they express the characters. Story 2 stars because im more into fantasy and not gods

Voices were incredibly annoying.

While I acknowledge the narrator is good at forces I REALLY wish he'd take it easy with some voices. The book never specified what type of accent Artemis and the hunters would have so why not keep it neutral? And oh boy the oracle, what would have been an unsettling scene was ruined by the narrator's cringey attempt at a spooky voice.

INCREDIBLE

I love the story but I don’t like the narrator. The narrator sounds so annoying

The enthusiasm in every word was amazing and the detail, the detail really was something

I liked that there was some mystery but you could still slightly understand or get your head around it

The voice acting was very good

I found the voice acting very good, better than some other books. He takes time to create different voices to make it seem like other characters are speaking, rather than using the same voice (you’ll know what I mean when you hear other audiobooks). I only started these books recently because of the new tv series coming out, but the voice actor even sounds a bit like actor Percy, so can’t fault that.

It’s actually a very good book, if you like Greek mythology and the gods and goddesses, it’s a great spin off from the original myths. Rick took time to really understand the myths and make them almost child friendly, to create a new appreciation for story telling.
