"Beck creates a world that is a shrewd mix of the mundane and the fanciful, and embellishes his narrative with jaunty silhouettes and graceful flourishes." (The Independent)

"Great until the end"
My family listened to this in a road trip. 2 of 3 boys ages 10-7 liked it. My wife and I liked it too. We all agreed it would have been better if it would have ended sooner. The end dragged on and didn't contribute anything.
