Summary

The ninth book in the original, jaw-droppingly stupendous Skulduggery Pleasant series.

Valkyrie. Darquesse. Stephanie. The world ain’t big enough for the three of them. The end will come…

The War of the Sanctuaries has been won, but it was not without its casualties. Following the loss of Valkyrie Cain, Skulduggery Pleasant must use any and all means to track down and stop Darquesse before she turns the world into a charred, lifeless cinder.

And so he draws together a team of soldiers, monster hunters, killers, criminals… and Valkyrie’s own murderous reflection.

The war may be over, but the final battle is about to begin. And not everyone gets out of here alive…

What a book!

Liked every thing apart from the chapters that danny gant Jeremiah where in. The chapters i only liked the parts and chapters where every one is fighting and useing magic.
I would recommend this book to any sees it or feels it.
I gave it 5 stars because it had alot of action abit of romance. And the magic and the diferent voices the reader used for each character and the way he rased his voice for each character.

Very good close

For an ending it was very good, it included all the elements it should have with some little surprises too. Not too shabby, not too shabby at all.

Very long, but at the same time way too short . . .

Loved pretty much every minute & very sad when it came to an end. Will miss the book & the series too. Hopefully Derek Landy will grace us with another instalment in the future.

Brilliant

I know it's supposed to be sad but it's really satisfying when a specific person is throttled to death

The perfect ending to a brilliant series

Would you listen to The Dying of the Light, Skulduggery Pleasant, Book 9 again? Why?

Yes, definitely. I often listen/read the rest of the series, so it follows....

Who was your favorite character and why?

Fletcher Renn - teleporters can take you anywhere. It's got to be the next best thing to flying!

What does Stephen Hogan bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

I really like Rupert Degas' interpretations of the characters in the first few books and I struggle with Stephen Hogan's narration sometimes as a result. Although this is nothing to do with Hogan's narration or ability, it's simply that everyone sounds different. When I read the books on paper, it's Degas I hear, so I'm afraid Hogan brings confusion.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes, both.

Any additional comments?

All the threads are brought together here and there are plenty of shocks and surprises, ups and downs. I am really sad it's all over.
