Artemis Fowl's criminal ways have finally got the better of him....
Young Artemis has frequently used high-tech fairy magic to mastermind the most devious criminal activity of the new century. Now, at a conference in Iceland, Artemis has gathered the fairies to present his latest idea to save the world from global warming. But Artemis is behaving strangely - he seems different. Something terrible has happened to him! Artemis Fowl has become...nice.
The fairies diagnose Atlantis Complex - that's obsessive compulsive disorder to you and me. Dabbling in magic has damaged his mind. Fairy ally Captain Holly Short doesn't know what to do. Because the subterranean volcanoes are under attack from vicious robots, and Artemis cannot fight them. Can Holly get the real Artemis back - before the robot probes destroy every human and life form?

Again i'm amazed by colfer....nathanial parker is ace...
he has such a broad accent range that its incredible. i found adrian dunbar a little samey especially when doing butler or anyone with a deep irish voice....nathans butler, mulch and such are more believable....
In this, the seventh installment of Eoin Colfer's amazing series about a criminal mastermind, our young anti-hero finds himself battling enemies of another sort. They are enemies no one else can see. It's finally happened, Artemis's superb brain has betrayed him, and right when his friends need him the most. Can Artemis conquer the demons in his imagination before those in the real world destroy him? As with the Time Paradox, this book is a little on the quirky side and takes some getting your head around, but it is conpulsive listening, and with one more book promised, listeners will be left eagerly awaiting the eighth and final book in the series.
Thoroughly enjoyed by all the family. Only one critisim, overall I feel Adrain Dunbar is a much better narrater. His portrayal of Foley and Mulch Diggims is spot on and highly entertaining.
I got hooked on the Artemis fowl series when I first bought he audio CD of book one to entertain my son Ivan on long car journeys between East Anglia and Wales - we were so entertained that we have gone on to read and listen to the rest . The non fluffy and very witty fairy tale .... This one continues the tale and is as enjoyable as it's predecessors, could be the best
There are such a wide variety of very different and very credible characters that it is difficult to chose a favourite ... I like the complexity of Artemis , especially the layers added to his personality by his alter ego Orion and even the beginnings of romantic thoughts for LEP Recon Holly . All the Artemis books are like a boxful of all my favourite types of chocolate , each delicious character has a special flavour of their own.. Can't chose between them, Arty , & his family, butler , Julia, Foaley, a Mulch, Holly , as well as all the bad guys - all add up to a tasty feast
I especially like how Eoin Colfer has tackles the concept of mental illness by giving the protagonist a range of common symptoms , from the sort of superstitious playing with numbers to create good luck or avoid bad luck games that all bright minds play at some time to OCD , duel personality and other potentially more serious conditions ... I like the bit where Artemis finds himself locked in his own mind . Genius might be close to madness, yet the challenges these conditions bring our hero out on top, a greater and more credible person than before . This book shows how true friends don't turn their back when someone suddenly changes personality - but hang on in there and work through it together
I love you in two minds or five alive
Cousen Ivan says happy Christmas to his adopted Colfer family from the top of the wall at Hitchkikers
"Just love it!"
The story is GREAT, the series even better!
I bought the books and now i'm listening to them!
The author is obviously fresh out of ideas. Disappointing, I think I'm done with this series.
