Summary

My name is Adam Butters. I live on planet Earth, I like eating spaghetti hoops and I've decided I'm going to be a superhero.

Everyone loves superheroes. They solve problems and make people happy, and that's good because my mum needs cheering up. Also, I've found out that before I was adopted my real mum called me Ace. So now I've just got to prove to the world that's what I am. One mission at a time...

Lovely but read with caution to Adopted Kids

Where does Just Call Me Spaghetti-Hoop Boy rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

A lovely story but not the right one for us so we won't listen again.

Any additional comments?

I have an adopted child and having just listened to a superhero story he really enjoyed I thought this would be a good tale as he could also connect to the characters background. In hindsight I should have listed to it first alone. Much of the tale is about the boy trying to find his 'real' mum and all the feelings around this. The story touches on some very sensitive topics which could be real triggers for some adopted children. For any adopters where calling the birth parents 'birth' parents is very important this story does the opposite till the very end (over and over again). Birth mum is called his 'real' mum. Only at the very end of the tale does he see his adoptive parents as his 'real' parents. I would definitely listen to it alone before you listen to it with an adopted child.
