Love this series of audiobooks, David Tennant's delivery is spot on. We listen to them in the car and often end up sitting and listening even when we have reached our destination!
Toothless is a great character, and far more interesting in the books than he is in the films.
David Tennant's characterisations are brilliant, we love the dragon voices.
The Dragons fly again!
Great fun, my daughter (age 10) loves them.
Storytelling really brought the book to life. My children loved the story and really got engrossed in the imagery and excitement of the tale.
The Hobbit. Really captivates the imagination and takes you on a fantasy adventure.
David Tennant's accent and expression worked so well with this story.
Laughter and surprise through the story.
If you love the movie and series on television, you will love this audiobook.
Avid reader, fashionista and runner
David Tennant does a stellar job bringing the story to life. Even if you are not a kid anymore, Cressida Cowell's tales of Hiccup are so much fun to listen to that it is seriously addictive. Shame though that this is an abridged version.
our mean daddy has said that because there are lots of these books he won't buy us any more yet. we can either wait or buy them out of our pocket money. as there are three of us we should be able to buy one a week and they are more fun than dvds. We can listen to these over and over. toothless is so funny and cheeky and we all love doing the voices. even daddy. Katie Phillips 9
My sons loves this series of stories, when he starts he struggles to stop listening!
It's exciting, gripping yet age appropriate
David tennant is fantastic! He really brings the characters to life
Its a nice story with characters familiar to anyone who has seen How to train your dragon. Although things in the books are a bit different to the movie ...
The entire series.
He brings the characters to life with some fantastic voices that really help draw you into the story. He is easy to listen to and understand.
Yes most definitely.
Would highly recommend this entire series to anyone.
You don't have to be a kid to enjoy this story. You just have to use your inner child imagination, come on, it's easy! The intonations of David Tennant's voice keeps you in the thick of it. I so love an adventure and that's what awaits you in this tale of "How to cheat a Dragon's curse".
"Great, funny, adveture and fun!"
It was a great book, I love David Tenant in this I give it 15 stars!
It did meet its expectations
I like kid books on occasion. Don't get into this one thinking its anything like the movie though. So long as you keep the two separate from each other its enjoyable even for adults. Very cute and adorable as well as a lot of fun.
"7 year old son LOVES this"
"The Dragons, of course"- my seven year old son who listened to it.
Other than he's also The Doctor and is awesome? Tennant has a very expressive voice and nice accent to listen to. If you have watched Doctor Who during the tenth doctor's era you can almost visualize his facial expressions.
My seven year old son (high functioning autism and adhd) loved listening to this while he played minecraft on his kindle.
"Love this series, but not the narrator"
This a great series. I purchased the first three books in the series unabridged and with a different narrator. For this book unabridged and with the original narrator wasn't an option. At first I thought my dislike of the narrator was me just not liking change, but as the story progressed my opinion of the narrator didn't. He uses voices that make the characters sound mentally retarded. I still enjoyed the story, but was distracted by the narration.
The story is interesting and the narration fantastic. Great car journey book. We listen to this series in the car on the way to school and we all really enjoy it.
"Fun and engaging."
my 5 year old has loved all of the Cressida books in this series
"Another great story in the adventures of Hiccup!"
Awesome, Daring and Funny
Harry Potter, Beast Quest, Deltora Quest, Percy Jackson Series. They are all books about kids who go on adventures without their parents.
David Tennant is always great.
Great for 8 year old boy, 5 year old girls and their parents
"Would defintiely reccommend this book"
Haven't read the print version but absolutely love the audio book.
The story is fun and moves along well.
No favoirtes, they are all good.
Love the way David Tennant narrates these stories. Would highly reccommend them.
"A child's imagination"
What a wonderful series to exercise children's imaginations. Cowell develops his characters well and David Tennant does a superb job of narrating the story to children.
