Summary

Listen to the books that inspired the How to Train Your Dragon films, narrated by David Tennant.

THE STORY CONTINUES in the second volume of Hiccup's How to Train Your Dragon memoirs....

Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III was an awesome sword-fighter, a dragon-whisperer and the greatest Viking Hero who ever lived. But it wasn't always like that. Hiccup's memoirs look back to when Hiccup was just an ordinary boy, and finding it very hard to be a Hero.

Can Hiccup find Grimbeard the Ghastly's treasure before Alvin the Treacherous gets his sneaky hands on it? And if Hiccup opens a box that says DO NOT OPEN, will he live to tell the tale?

How to Train Your Dragon is now a major DreamWorks franchise starring Gerard Butler, Cate Blanchett and Jonah Hill and the TV series, Riders of Berk, can be seen on CBeebies and Cartoon Network.

Read the rest of Hiccup's exploits in the rest of the series and check out the all-new Hiccup website at www.howtotrainyourdragonbooks.com. It's the place to go for games, downloads, activities and sneak peeks!

Short but sweet

Bit short, but still loved it. beautifully narrated. The writing is wonderful, simple, but very witty. Some of the names are hilarious. Great books for the entire family.

Brilliant

Would you consider the audio edition of How to Be a Pirate to be better than the print version?

I bought this originally for my kids, and I (42 years old) ended up enjoying the story the most. David Tennant is brilliant, the story is brilliant.

Another great story

What made the experience of listening to How to Be a Pirate the most enjoyable?

The introduction of new characters and the little twists in the story.

What did you like best about this story?

The introdcution of a really nasty villain! And the narration of course.

What about David Tennant’s performance did you like?

David Tennant makes the characters colourful and using different accents for them is brilliant.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Where Hiccup puts his desire for treasure 2nd to the future of the Hooligans. Fab :-)

As good as Fishlegs' squint

Another in the series of entertaining and well narrated adventures. David Tennant reads the books with clarity, feeling and humour. The story (like the other ones) is beautifully ridiculous. Cressida Cowell won't win any prizes for well crafted plots or subtle storytelling but she spins a fine yarn about these junior Vikings and their comic ways. My kids (6 and 8) loved it and the older one has since gone on to read the whole series after listening to the first three. Perfect for car family car journeys...
