"'There is a plot, Harry Potter. A plot to make most terrible things happen at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry this year.'"
Harry Potter's summer has included the worst birthday ever, doomy warnings from a house-elf called Dobby, and rescue from the Dursleys by his friend Ron Weasley in a magical flying car! Back at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for his second year, Harry hears strange whispers echo through empty corridors - and then the attacks start. Students are found as though turned to stone.... Dobby's sinister predictions seem to be coming true.

"A marriage made in heaven, Stephen Fry reading Harry Potter." (The Times)
A man with a child in his ears - @ShutterSpin.
Travelling through these books now in audio format is to revisit some of the finest story-telling that I personally have ever come across. I don't think many would claim that J K Rowling explored brand new ground to stretch the fantasy / sci-fi genres into new areas. What she did do though is take fantasy and shape it into a fantastic set of stories that genuinely people of all ages could enjoy. She opened up the genre in a way not seen since The Lord of the Rings.
When you marry that to the near sublime narration from Stephen Fry you end up with something that when taken in its own terms is as near perfect an audiobook as I have had the pleasure to listen to.
For those of us who's only recent experience of Harry Potter has been the excellent films there is also the occasional hidden please of scenes that never made it to the films such as the "Deathday" Party.
Right, I'm off to chase the Prisoner of Azkaban now!
Another good book with Stephen Fry narrating it in fantastic style. It's always hard to pinpoint a favourite section of J.K.R's Harry Potter books and as most people have read the printed book or seen the films there is not much chance of spoiling, I will say I felt sorry for the whomping willow!
Stephen Fry, J.K Rowling, Harry Potter. Simply brilliant cannot recommend this enough. All these books are so well narrated I cant see anyone not enjoying them if you enjoyed the books (or even as a first time performance).
It is already one of the best audiobooks I've listened to, I have the first Harry Potter book on CD's but this is so much easier to listen to without having to change the CD over.
The best thing about the Chamber Of Secrets is Dobby and the way Stephan Fry reads the story, changing his voice for each character.
I have listened to the Philosophers Stone - read by Stephan Fry but again they were CD's and I needed to change them every so often. They are both really well read and something I will want to listen to again.
Yes definitely! Sadly i couldn't but i'm glad I could bookmark where I was listening.
I would definitely recommend Audible and the Harry Potter series
They have finally put these on audiobook store very expensive 18 chapters of 30 minuts each it is worth it I've waited ages for these books 10 hours 8 minutes awesome first audoibook is good asswell
nothing like a good thriller to quicken the pulse
as a massive fan of the harry potter books, I'm thrilled that the rights for the audio books have been released to audible.
Stephen fry is a superb narrator for this series. he captures all the elements perfectly. the audio books are better than the written nor due to Stephen Fry's excellent narration
Timeless story and wonderful narration by no other than Stephen Fry. I've been enchanted into these books after seeing the film's and never managing to read through all of them as a child. Listening to them on audible is continuing to be, a great experience.
Stephen Fry made this book great listening.
He keeps you engaged and in suspense. I will be buying the rest of the series. Great for all age ranges.
I'm a broadcast journalist specialising in technology and politics. I'm married with four children, a geek and radio presenter.
What's to say? It's Harry Potter. Not only the greatest of boy wizards but one of the most amazing world's to explore. Plus it is read by Stephen Fry who is just incredible.
Dobby and the sock of course.
I've listened to a lot of readings by Stephen Fry and he is a master of the genre. His Harry Potter books are amongst his best.
See memorable moments. But also the blossoming of the friendship between the three main protagonists.
It is wonderful to finally have Harry Potter available on Audible. I already had the readings on CD but to be able to listen to it within the Audible app, plus the extra production touches that come from Audible make it an amazing way to experience the story.
"I just love this book!!!"
listened to this on a long drive in traffic and it made everything so much better!!
YES! Mr. Stephen Fry read an amazing story and it is like watching the movie.
I am a HP fans so I like all about it.
Oh, I think the tongue of Snape is so vivid.
I finished it in less than 2 days!! Again Stephen Fry didnt fail to deliver the magical essence of Harry Potter.
Chamber of Secrets is one of my favorites after the Half blood prince
"Never clicked the "pause" button"
I bought this book at 12 pm and listened to the book from start to finished in one sitting.
i loved the book and the narrator's voice was the best choice for the book
I love Stephen Fry's narration! The books are beyond amazing. It's taken me a long time to start reading but better late than never, right?
Possibly even better than the first! Stephen Fry does a brilliant job of bring this book to life. We have loved listening to it in the car. We didn't want our journey to end!
I've read the books many times, but Stephen Fry takes them to a new level every time. Enjoyed every part of it.
Especially the part where the narrator is quoting Basilisk - the voice chills blood to the core. Bravo !!!
"Enjoyable story, great narration."
This book is very entertaining and Stephen Fry's narration is wonderful.
I especially enjoy the further characterisation of the cast surrounding the main trio.
It does however fall into a strange mid-spot between light and dark that lessen the engagement for me slightly.
"Why can't I stop listening?"
I have a truck load of books waiting to be read and heard but I find myself reaching out for the Harry Potter Audio books series. I think I will listen to the whole thing..... Again.
I love that the book is not read in a single, monotonous voice. I've said this before but he gets Hagrid and Vernon on point. "Oh potter you rotter" had a tune to it too hahaha. I enjoy listening to Stephen Fry.
