Anne Shirley's childhood sweetheart, Gilbert Blythe, is finally a doctor, and in the old orchard, among their dearest friends, he and Anne speak their vows. The first year of marriage brings them new friends and their own dream house on the misty purple shores of Four Winds Harbour. A new life means fresh problems to solve - and fresh surprises.
Anne and Gilbert will make new friends and meet their neighbors: Captain Jim, the lighthouse attendant, with his sad stories of the sea; Miss Cornelia Bryant, the lady who speaks from the heart - and speaks her mind; and the tragically beautiful Leslie Moore, into whose dark life Anne shines a brilliant light.

"This series has yet to get stale"
Another excellent book to continue the series.
I first listened to the series with free downloads and Karen Savage is yet to be beaten by any of the readers I have experienced in Audible's selection--thus only 3 stars for this reader, who is good and won't distract you, but not as good as Karen.
I'm a guy and I endorse these. In fact, I can't wait to start reading them with my children.
"Always listen to a sample of the reading before buying!"
Usually I enjoy a long book to listen to during my work commute but I found the Narrators voice a little annoying. Every character's voice, young, old, male or female had an old lady quality to it.
"Surprise! there is another Anne of Green Gables"
For me this is a great way to relax and try to sleep.
But It was a GOD send, when I shared it with a friend who was unable to read anymore. ... (she died of brain cancer and loved to read) For her, this was a tremendous help to fill the hours.. I am so very glad I found you!! It was a way to be helpful, when there is not allot to offer. Thank you for making available, a wonderful interesting and loving story.
I loved the Captain and his stories of the sea, and his extreme kindness.
The walks on the beach in the moonlight...true romantic ....and lover the sea !!
Laughed out loud at some of Ann's high-jinks...but also cried when the truth came out about others lives and hardships.
Thoroughly enjoyed living a bit more in Anne's shoes!!
Gave it three stars due to narrator. Everyone sounded like an old lady. Karen Savage is the best narrator yet. I miss her in this book. I downloaded the free audio versions of the first three with her as narrator. I grit my teeth with the authors they have doing this book!
"One of her best and that's saying something"
At first we weren't sure about this one but as we persisted we were rewarded with one of the best stories in memory.
