Summary

The story of Theodore C. Mouse, the curious mouse of Bethlehem, dates back to when Christmas began. Do you ever wonder what it would have been like to be a fly on the wall,or a mouse in the corner in downtown Bethlehem on that first Christmas night, when Joe and Mary had traveled many miles only to be turned down for a place to lay their heads at the local hotel after a slow, exhausting, and tedious journey? In 1989 I was pastoring in a picturesque little New England church on Lake Winnipesaukee, two hours north of Boston, in beautiful Wolfeboro, New Hampshire ,when I wrote a simple kids' Christmas story to read one Sunday morning to all the children during the cold winter season.

With a gentle, pure-white snowfall covering the streets and sidewalks, every church window glowed with the warm flame of candles. It was there in the stillness of that little white clapboard church that A Christmouse Tale was born.
