This was a very disappointing read. It felt like to much generic stories and to little substance.
I got it as extra material for my Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification, but had no benefit of reading it.
If you are looking for Lean Six Sigma books I would suggest this instead: The Toyota Way to Lean Leadership: Achieving and Sustaining Excellence Through Leadership Development
It is a pure Lean book, but it is at least good and interesting to listen to.
I found this hard to get through. I've listen to a bunch of these books and this book was by far the worst. I would not recommend this to anyone.
didnt pick up one insight from this book. not worth the time
"The book doesn't even explain what six-sigma is!"
The book just talks about what sigma can do and doesn't explain what six sigma is or how it can be implemented! Doesn't even 'explain' the basics of Six Sigma (DMAIC etc.). An absolute waste of money and time!
"Painful but necessary"
If you are in the corporate world, you need to make yourself aware of these things. This book however is a bit painful, and the subject matter could probably have been handled better.
This is the most useless book I've read or listened to in a long time, maybe ever. no real content. mostly only anecdotes about 6 sigma.
"Say six sigma"
Wow, basically worthless. If you want to hear a narrator say the word six Sigma over and over and over again and the slow halting style and this is the book for you. It provides little in the way of actual business guidance and ends up being much more of a sales tool to try to convince you to use six Sigma. I bought the book because I wanted to learn more about six Sigma and how I could implement it in my company. This in no way accomplished my goal.
"Some interesting points but unimpressive"
Most of the book seemed pretty generic. It did provide some info worth listening to, so it wasn't a total waste, but much of it was pretty much general knowledge. The puns were annoying, certainly not amusing.
"I found it very useful and inspiring"
I have studied Six Sigma at Motorola University and therefor have a good understanding of the concepts and the technical stuff behind.
The book doesn’t give a “HowTo” on the practical level and implementation, regarding all the hardcore mathematical tools and a real step by step on the DMAIC process – BUT a very good top level management insight

What I learned from this book:
A 1 minute investment in time to read the reviews would have yielded a 4 hour ROI.
I agree with most reviews here. This book has very little value. Lots of cheerleading for 6 sigma without any actual applicable knowledge.
The purpose of this book was obvious to me in the final paragraph in which they tell you the email address of the consulting firm who wrote the book... this is a 4 hours warm up to a sales-call.
"It should be half a star or zero"
This books SEEMS to be giving a very high level view of project management. And six sigma WT???
Put something of value into it and drop the six sigma rubbish.
