Are you aware that almost everything is negotiable?
Negotiation is a skill that can bring you vast success in all aspects of your life. When you're a skilled negotiator, you can get the best possible price on everything you purchase or sell, and you can deal with salespeople or clients.
We're all negotiating all the time in all kinds of everyday situations: parents negotiating with their children; employees negotiating with each other, with subordinates, with bosses; customers negotiating with salespeople or service providers. And with The Secrets of Power Negotiating, you'll always have the upper hand in every negotiating situation in which you find yourself.
For example, the program gives you specific ways to:

The audio is from the cassette era, but the lessons are current as ever.
There is so much to learn about negotiation and communication. The 4 types of personalities in a negotiation made so much sense:
Chapter order -- please fix this audible, all mixed up (a 1st for audible). Hard to follow when the chapters are all over the place.
The chapters at the beginning don't follow each other. Actually, what should be the first chapter is the last one. That aside, really good content and I would recommend it.
This book is merely cobbled together from sections of some online course or cassettes by Roger Dawson. It has no coherence, missing great chunks, and lurching from topic to topic. As a narrator, Roger Dawson has an American twang on top of his British accent, which is wincingly unpleasant to listen to. All the vocabulary and examples are American. I absolutely would not, by any stretch of the imagination, consider another Roger Dawson book - but since this isn't really a book at all, just a collection of random recordings, I'm not sure "another" is the right word here.
It was mercifully short.
Seriously, save your money. And if the book is offered to you for free, save your time.
This book Brings unique insights into negotiation that I have not encountered in other books.
The format can be improved - it's a series of cassettes amalgamated into 1 book, so repot ice at times and doesn't flow
"Chapters are out of order!"
I enjoyed his voice, but doubt this is unabridged. Unfortunately, the chapters are out of order, which is a pain. The order in which you should listen are as follows (using the workbook as reference).
Chapter: 1, 6 to 13, 2 to 4
Chapter 1 = 1
Chapter 2 = 10
Chapter 3 = 11
Chapter 4 = 12
Chapter 5 = Bonus chapter? Buying an automobile
Chapter 6 = 2
Chapter 7 = 3
Chapter 8 = 4
Chapter 9 = 5
Chapter 10 = 6
Chapter 11 = 7
Chapter 12 = 8
Chapter 13 = 9
"Very disappointing - Not an unabridged recording"
Chapter two began by referring back to principles (personality styles) developed in Chapter One. The only problem is this was not discussed in Chapter one. Materials from the book have clearly been left out of this recording. I can live with an abridged recording, but don't claim to be otherwise and don't edit so sloppily. Very disappointing.
"Not sure what happened to half of the book"
I definitely would - Roger Dawson has great pace at reading, a calm and steady voice. Perfect for lecture-style audiobooks.
His reading style is great to listen and learn to.
People who lack basic interpersonal skills, with a lack of understanding of negotiation at the macro level.
The book is not very good at giving adequate techniques, and seems more like a beginning than a complete work.
I was awfully disappointed when after listening to the book for 1:26 the end rang, and yet it is advertised as a 5-hour book! Then I got some lengthy message from Nightingale which had nothing to do with the book.
If I had known the book was NOT 5-hours I would not have wasted a credit on it, and would recommend at most paying 10$ for this book.
"Good Content, Horrible Organization"
The chapters are completely disorganized, and there are a few missing. Of all the simple fixes, it baffles me that the owners of this content don't fix the problem. There's a lot of good content here, this is timeless negotiation education. Worth a listen if you're someone like me who digs in deep to audio books, listening and re-listening, again and again.
"This is not unabridged!!"
The information is good, but it's a shame that there are parts left out of this audio version. Would have liked to know the other info.
"Inconsistent with the book"
This audiobook was not even an abridged version of the book. It was a series of audio lectures which discussed topics from the book, but did not not nearly with the same depth as the book.
"Good material but all the chapters were out of order"
I liked the content, had some great tactics for negotiating. I grew up in a car dealership around some the sales tactics but they don't use the smarmy ones here.
I think I learned some classy techniques and way to structure negotiations.
I truly enjoyed the content, complete with its fascinating stories. l recommended it to family and friends, including my eleven-years-old granddaughter.
"Out dated in parts and weak on directions."
the material was outdated and I wanted to see more specific examples
Cost was way to high for content. I would like to Negotiate that price!
More clear flow of the book and material would be helpful
"awesome book for any in sales"
couldn't have been happier with this purchase, a must read any that has been in sales can benefit from this
