    "Zig Ziglar debunks all the myths holding you back from closing the sale"

    Are you a sales person who is passionate about your product or service, can present it professionally but struggles to turn each presentation into a sale? You're just like me! Zig Ziglar gives over 100 secrets in this book. The biggest takeaway I had was understanding that sales is really about helping others get what they want and need. This book helped me understand who to sell my values so I don't feel or appear pushy. The stories Zig tells are approachable so anyone in any field would understand. If you're in sales (and Zig says we are ALL in sales) this book is a must have in your toolkit. Timeless

    "Basics of selling told in a boring tone"

    There is some great content in this book not only for New sales people wanting to learn the fundamentals of selling but also good for experienced sales people to brush up on their existing skills.

    Now that being said this book is pretty dated and there's a lot of new better books that have the information in a more relevant format. I did not like the reading by zig- after 15 minutes of listening to his voice you'll probably get pretty sick of it. I recommend sell or be sold by grant cardone, and fanatical prospecting by Jeb Blount. The information is similar but it's much more relevant to this day and age, and the reading by the authors is a lot more passionate and draws you in quite a bit more.

    This is a lot to take in all at once. Like Zig recommends, you'll have to come back to it over the course of a year to really get the most of all the information here.

    "Good, but disjointed"
    Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

    This was somewhat time well spent. If I didn't hear him delivering the same presentation with the same illustration more than once in the same book, I would think it was time better spent (and it would have been LESS time spent as well). But for how long this audio book was, I didn't appreciate having to listen to multiple illustrations more than once. Seemed like a waste of time.


    What was one of the most memorable moments of The Secrets of Closing the Sale?

    His illustrations are the most memorable parts. He is a great storyteller and his stories are very entertaining for the most part.


    Did Zig Ziglar and Tom Ziglar do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

    I'm not sure what this means...


    Did The Secrets of Closing the Sale inspire you to do anything?

    It gave me some good basic framework to put into practice. I don't think I'll be using "The ____ Close" or specific things like that. But it was good to hear things like they say No because they don't Know enough yet. So I am inspired to focus more on listening to the customer and handling objections in a better way.


    Any additional comments?

    It was somewhat distracting the way this was edited together. It's Zig on the stage, then it's Zig in the studio, then back on the stage, then Tom in studio. You can tell when they edit out things in a presentation - the audio wasn't handled very smoothly. Overall I think the material is good, but this didn't really seem like a book at all, just a random collection of his best presentations with Tom randomly popping in. This could have been done better.

    I first heard of this book from another entrepreneurial book and was interested to listen to it. With Zig Ziglar's excitement he makes a sales book really entertaining, yet very informative.
