Publisher's Summary

Learn about how the battle against terrorism taught us how management must change to adapt to a complex world - in a fraction of the time it takes to read the actual book!

The inspiration behind this book came from the fight against terrorist cells in the Middle East. The US military forces discovered that they had to adapt their war strategy in order to be effective against these terrorists. Their adaptations in strategy proved to be massively successful, and they can be applied to any organization - especially today's businesses and corporations. The reason this book is called Team of Teams is because the strategy outlined in the book provides a way to turn an organization that consists of many different teams into one highly functioning team while still maintaining different departments.

Four people are primarily responsible for contributing to this book. The first is Dave Silverman, who is a Naval Academy graduate and who later became a Navy SEAL. The second contributor is Chris Fussell, who is also a Navy SEAL. Tantum Collins was a student of leadership at Yale University when the author first met him. And the primary author of this book is Stanley McChrystal, a retired US Army general.

Here is a preview of what you'll learn:

  • How the terrorist outsmarted the US military
  • The reason why america needed to change strategy to defeat the terrorist organizations
  • Why the management style the military adapted must be implemented by any organization that wants to remain effective in a changing world
