In every field, from chess to gymnastics, we can make bigger gains by reducing mistakes than by making winning moves. This is especially true in business. We study the greats, trying to extract valuable lessons, when avoiding a few key blunders would be more valuable.
Fortunately, advice on what not to do is universally applicable. The ways to fall down the mountain are shared by all climbers, no matter which path they've chosen.
This book is here to teach you how NOT to fall down the mountain.
How can you be an entrepreneur that beats the odds? How do you build a successful business that not only changes the world for the better, but creates generational wealth for you and your family? You simply need to avoid mistakes - and this book will show you how.

"This book is a fantastic Entrepreneurship 101 course. If you are serious about building a company, this is where to start." (Tucker Max, New York Times #1 best-selling author and entrepreneur)
"Lucas imparts the sound tactics of a seasoned veteran. Invest wisely in your company's most valuable asset: you." (Oliver Lade, entrepreneur)
"Packed with insight, witty humor and approaches to difficult situations. Lucas shares truths that have an audience beyond the entrepreneurs for which the book is intended. His experience shines through the book as he draws the reader in to explore a mindset of what it means to be a founder." (Brandon Dube, founder)
Well written, honest, direct, and succinct advice from Lucas on what he encountered, did wrong, and what you can learn from it. If you are looking to start a company especially a high-tech one, you would be well advised to listen to this book, it won't take long and I would bet that you will listen to it more than once. If the only thing you get from this is that you want to be starting a company that solves a problem people are looking to have solved, rather than solving a problem that no one knows they have. Find the people who's hair is on fire.
Would highly recommend.
"Entertaining and Educational"
I love how it's told as a story about Lucas' life, then immediately switches to practical tips on how to avoid mistakes he's made
Did not read the book, The narration was lovely just the right levels of clear and upbeat to keep me interested
I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher
It is nice to hear the story and advices from an entrepreneur who failed and succeeded. He not only talk about the ways to market your idea but also virtues and priciples that you should set up from the beginning and keep till the end.
"Something for everyone"
I think there is probably something for most anyone at varying levels of entrepreneurship in this book. Compellingly written and narrated. Definitely a must-listen if you're inclined towards this line of work and lifestyle.
I was given an audio copy of his book via Audioblast in exchange for a fair and unbiased review.

I was really amazed at how helpful this book was. I listen to a lot of nonfiction books about business, and most of them are unhelpful (and self-indulgent) for 90% of the book or more. This book completely turned that ratio around. Not only will I listen again, but I just bought the book on Kindle to get more out of the lists and other useful info. Really well done.
The narration was lovely- just the right levels of clear and upbeat to keep me interested. I listened to the whole thing in one sitting.
"Entrepreneurship - This is as real as it gets"
I love how it's told as a story about Lucas' life, then immediately switches to practical tips on how to avoid mistakes he's made.
4hr work week, by Tim Ferris.
Chris has a great voice, perfect for this title. I genuinely thought Lucas had narrated the book himself. Being from the UK some American accents can be grating, not this one though.
Lucas touches on personal points in his life - how he dealt with his Mum during a difficult time, how multiple ideas had failed. This is as real as it gets.
Inspiring book which I'm going to listen to again. Loads of invaluable information.
Finding Success in Failure: True Confessions from 10 Years of Startup Mistakes is a lot; But never ever boring! Lucas Carlson has made a fun book, and i like that. It is also my only critic! Is it a bit TO funny? I think so, and that is why it is 4 and not 5 stars! It is still a clever, casually written walk through the mind of a deep thinker and successful entrepreneur. So i should not complain! It is easy listening to and was actually pretty inspirational. 3 hrs and 16 mins goes on fast, and i would recommend this to all that are thinking of starting a business!
I have the same problem with Chris Murray that i have with the book, is he to funny? That is the ONLY thing that i have to say negative! Other that that he does a really good job! His voice is new for me, and i will remember his name, because if he reads out loud more books i will be there to give him more chances to impress me! In Finding Success in Failure: True Confessions from 10 Years of Startup Mistakes he does a good job, but maybe a to funny job!

"Entertaining and Educational!"
I really enjoyed listening to Finding Success in Failure. I especially enjoyed the marriage of honest and engaging stories used to demonstrate key principles with practical steps that can be used to make those principles a reality. Even though I have no immediate plans of starting my own business, I have already decided to take some of the advice and start applying it to my life now (specifically: rejection training). My only real criticism (and this was not really a big deal), is that even though Chris did a great job narrating the book, there was some room noise (a sort of slight echo) that was initially distracting; however, it was fairly easy to tune out and was quickly forgotten.
