Financial Statements is a perfect introduction to financial accounting for non-financial managers, stock market investors, undergraduate business and MBA students, lawyers, lenders, entrepreneurs, and more. Most introductory finance and accounting books either fail because they are written by accountants for accountants or the authors "dumb down" the concepts until they are virtually useless. Financial Statements deftly shows that all this accounting and financial reporting stuff is not rocket science and that anyone can understand it!
Thomas R. Ittelson is a scientist, businessman, author, and teacher with many years of hands-on experience in business development and marketing for technical companies. As a consultant to entrepreneurs, Ittelson has written business plans and prepared financial projections that have helped raise more than $500 million in start-up equity capital.

"Breezy, nicely connected a lot of dots"
I found this a great accompaniment to an all-online financial accounting class, because it fills in what the class and textbook lacked: a nice conversational sort of overview of how all the parts fit together.
"Excellent book - much more than the title suggests"
One of the best business books I have ever read.
The best part of the book is the second half, where the author explains Capital Budgeting, and related evaluation tools. It ties together the various financial concepts that one learns sparatically in college.
A full and complete understanding of a business from an accounting and finance perspective.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in business, especially accounting and finance people that would like a clear understanding of financial concepts applied.
"Could have been a lot better"
I was hoping for a lot more similar type or different type transactions for Apple Bee Inc. Its a decent book but should have had more accounting entries
"Perfect for non financial people"
It's fast so don't be afraid to pause and go back. You'll get it hang in there.
I'm a Business student majoring in finance and I can highly recommend this book This provides an excellent overview.
So much information, details where it's needed, and general overview for everything else.
It was nice and lucid
Certainly recommend for people who wants basic understanding
Voice very clear and crisp
Should read the book also
"Good book but not as audio"
The written version is probably called for. Too many things require you to stop and think to make a good listen.
"Not your Dad's accounting primer!"
When you purchase a book to refresh your recollection of accounting, and the book enhances your knowledge of investments; you have made a great financial decision. Ittelson, has authored an excellent Audiobook.
"Not what I was expecting"
I was expecting a book that would help me gain deeper insights into financial statements, but instead it was mostly a step by step log of a company’s accounting. The little insights were dumbed down, and lacked depth. I would skip this book unless you're 17 years old and have no business experience at all.
"Well put together!"
This book really is put together brilliantly. You will get a good handle on key concepts and general best practices pretty quickly. Great foundation to build on.
