Cialdini provides fascinating insight into how people avoid the work of making decisions and why they comply with requests in business settings.     "Salesman more than an academic"

    Light-hearted one hour lecture. I didn't learn much new, but to be fair, I'm quite up on this subject. Loses credibility by implying that the 'science' of rhetoric is 50 years old (eat your heart out Aristotle), and also that we are the only species to practice recipocracy, which has been simultaneously discovered by every human culture (eat your heart out Darwin, Dawkins et el.).

    "Very interesting, and good value for money"

    For just over ?2, you can't really go wrong. The content is interesting and the speaker engaging. There were a couple of practical tips which I think could be quite useful, however the thought crossed my mind that if you adopted all of the straergies suggested without discretion you would become a bit of a smarmy salesman type. But I would certainly recommend it as some facinating principles are explained.

    I've recommended this book to all my friends and colleagues. It's one of the least expensive books on audible.co.uk but one of the most valuable.

    If you want to honourably influence people then listen to this 50 minute speech.

    "Short and to the point."

    The audio is not great, it's a talk to a large crowd. But the content is fantastic and I just like his voice and demeanor.
    It's the first time influence and persuasion is explained as a good for everybody system rather than an I get one over you because I know this knowledge.
    Listened to it many times still enjoy it.

    "Feel good story to demonstrate a point"
    What made the experience of listening to Executive Briefing the most enjoyable?

    Short lecture using story structure on how to 'win freinds and influence people' one of those storys that makes you feel like there are good people out there.

    It's a live lecuture which means that the prose is not seemless, there is some clunking in the back ground, but it does not detract from the speach. Also there are a number of verbal interjections that you wouldnt get with the reading of a book.

    I have enjoyed listening to this book for its feel good factor a couple of times now, and also to try and make me better at being a better freind.

    If you could sum up Executive Briefing in three words, what would they be?

    I am usually not sure about self help books and anything aimed at providing advice however this recording i found to be excellent. Do you get value for money, well i think so yes, can you get the same info from his Youtube channel. Possibly given enough time to pull it all together.

    Buy it i do believe his advice will help everyone in their daily lives.

    Well worth your time and money

    What did you like most about Executive Briefing?

    Very practical advice and a clear description on how to use it with entertaining examples.


    What about the narrator’s performance did you like?

    Cialdini is a very engaging speaker.

    It is surprisingly funny for a technical presentation.

    The book sets out a few very easy to follow rules that are quite practical. For someone just starting out in sales this is a great read!

    "Top EXPERT on Persuasion"

    Cialdini's book is the best there is on proven persuasion techniques and how widely they are used in advertising. But the book doesn't give you good ways to use the techniques with integrity in everyday life - and this lecture does!

    I was also extremely happy to find that Cialdini is an excellent speaker. He keeps you entertained, and is easy to listen to. Often the academic researcher fails on that count.

    My only complaint is that this is too short! He's got a LOT of information that he packs down into this 50 minutes. Because he's giving a single lecture he has to leave so much detail out that it will be hard for someone who hasn't read the book to appreciate the strength of these techniques and the hard-core research behind each one.

    This is actually a great summary of the material, somewhat like an audible crib-sheet. I'd suggest that you get this now (the price is incredible!) but also read the book.

    "Briefing - Good Buy"

    This audio is a taping of a seminar that Dr. Cialdini gave however the audio is pretty clear and Dr. Cialdini is a very good public speaker. You can tell in his voice that he had an audience to interact with thus the clip is not dry. This clip, for a couple dollars, is very well worth the price. Too bad this was not longer as he would have had time to cover more material and practical examples.

    "Fabulous performance by a real pro..."

    This is a masterpiece of a speech given by a proven expert in his field. I got it for the subject matter, but have listened over and over for the beautiful way this speech is packaged. The author takes a tough subject and makes it interesting, even funny at times. I finished with the idea that I had learned some interesting things and knowing that I had found a field worthy of a great deal more research. With spectacular precision, the author informs and entertains for a truly worthy performance.

    I am shy of 'sales power' type hype simply becuase so much of it is hype but this lecture is solid, practical advice on how people persuade each other. Well worth the listen and very much worth the price.

    I first saw this fantastic presentation on video about 4 years ago so was thrilled to be able to get the audio version. I listen again and again, and have even taught the material to others. Is this worth the money I paid for it? Heck no, it's worth 100 times more!!

    This is one of my first Audible experiences and I loved it!
    The speaker/writer is very well spoken and easy to listen to as well as entertaining and informative.
    The context of the talk is very helpful to anyone who interacts with other humans. One of those things in life that you are simply glad to have found and enjoyed and learned from.
    I would recommend it all those who would like to understand and improve their interactive skills.

    I have to agree with the majority of reviewers of this audio book. Cialdini is lighthearted, amusing and engaging while delivering some really worthwhile information. Like another reviewer I listened to this short audiobook a few times and enjoyed it each time.

    My assessment - Definitely worth a listen.
