Agile Project Management QuickStart Guide
Agile project management is shifting the world of project management at its core for good reasons. With an approach to projects that is quite different from the traditional waterfall methodology, Agile project management focuses on added value fast while staying on track to achieve a defined business goal. Completing projects in small chunks, piece by piece, allows project stakeholders to implement deliverables much faster than waiting for all phases of the project to be completed, as well as allowing for modifications to project items based on changing needs.
Often overlooked as a project management style that is only for IT-related projects, Agile methodology can be utilized to complete projects across any industry, including company reorganization, improving upon or redefining business processes, and simply any project that has short production and implementation times. In this book, I will teach you everything you need to know about Agile project management so that you can comfortably and confidently deploy the techniques and strategies in your projects. I'll take you step by step through the phases of an Agile project, how to schedule iterations during your project, and how to win over project stakeholders with this progressive methodology.
Scrum QuickStart Guide
Differing greatly from the traditional "waterfall" or "relay" approach to project management methodology, Scrum emphasizes the importance of a cross-functional team that pushes forward together to a collective goal - the project success. Implementing such tactics as "daily scrums" in which all members of the team are held accountable for their accomplishments, current tasks, and potential obstacles, Scrum attempts to create a real "team" amongst all members where all individuals must move forward together, as occurs within a scrum on the Rugby field from which the term was adopted.
The holistic approach taken by Scrum not only embraces the importance of progressing as a team, it also raises several important questions that highlight potential inefficiencies within an organization, specifically related to resource allocation, accountability, and task management. Not to be overlooked, the approach taken even from the smallest projects within an organization can ultimately define the overall success.

"a dry performance of a three hour infomercial"
Pros: gives history and context of scrum and agile
Cons: Redundant, uninformative, lack of detail or instruction, essentially a collection of case studies paired with historical information on the methodologies
I didn't order the print version, but I really liked the audible version.
This book does a great job using real life examples. For people just starting out, learning about agile and scrum, this book is a great place to start.
No I haven't. As this was my first listen to them both, I will share that Kevin was more animated than Lucy.
This isn't really a "moving" book, but rather a great concept book followed by practical guidelines and tips for these methodologies.
"Very Sound Overview of Agile and Scrum"
Not to long, but enough detail to achieve a good understanding of the subject matter.
Perfect as an introduction to Agile and Scrum if your company is considering or heading in that direction.
Not to much detail to lose the listening, but enough to get a good feel for the intent.
The books are well read and easy to follow. The case studies are helpful in understanding real world issues when implementing.

This ranks higher than about 70% of others I've read on this topic
These are great to have if you are just getting started or if you are trying to refresh what you have been utilizing for a long time. Whether you are at the bottom or the top there is something everyone can benefit from.
"The reader sounds almost human!"
This is obviously an experiment in using voice synthesis for an audiobook instead of paying voice actors. As such, it's not bad at all. It reminds me of the computer voices in many sci-fi movies and shows in the past. The second computerized voice, the British one, occasionally flubs on word emphasis but is generally more interesting than the first one, which reminds me of a talking digital skull.
The books themselves are a little like reading technical specifications documentation, at least in terms of style, diction and story, but the information given is useful, and the format is conducive to the use of voice synthesis in place of actual human readers.
I loved that I could just relax and learn things. It gave a great mount of information about each subject and it has taught me alot.
No I have not but this makes me want to listen to it more! I would love to hear more!
It made me learn alot. I was very interested in what they had to say.
Really a great book!
"Excellent introduction to Agile"
I would recommend this audiobook to anyone who is trying to learn how to work in a agile/scrum environment. I enjoyed this book and liked how it covers the most important points of this method of project management. I preferred Kevin Collins' reading rather than Lucy Vest. His reading flowed better. Chapters 2-15 are the Agile book. Chapters 16-28 are the Scrum book. I don't think this is a book to sit and listen to all at once as it takes a bit more concentration than fiction. "Good overall review of process"
Insightful, Well-Researched, Intelligent
The book gives a good background and understanding of both the Scrum methodology and Agile, as well as their relationship to one another.
The Scrum methodology seems to be gaining more widespread uses, and is now even used in some high schools, and had more of an interest in that. I also liked the book's focus on not only the benefits of Scrum/Agile to that of typical waterfall methodology, but problems that may be encountered. Such an understanding is obviously worthwhile to understand for those departments that decide to transition to these approaches.
I really enjoyed listening to this book, which helped to reinforce concepts and improve my understanding of such. Great book.

"Great overview for new & existing project managers"
I really enjoyed the engaging narration and writing of a topic that could easily be dry and monotonous.
As a current Project Manager, I was looking for a refresher on the AGILE and SCRUM Methods. This guide is truly written for any level of project manager, or just someone interested in business practices. The writing is engaging and dynamic - pleasantly surprising for a topic that could be boring if it was written dryly. I got through this within a couple days.

"SCRUM & Agile Newbie"
Basic, Informative, and broad.
Yes, I have several books now, and they are decently put together.
The information provided in this set is basic and for me it was helpful. I am entry level to Agile PM & SCRUM. The set does not do a very good job of defining SCRUM for the beginner (like myself) but it did provide the information to research further. I was going to purchase these before I received the offer to get them for free. This is a good purchase for a newbie but for the battle tested veteran, I would not start here.
